I will take 20 please. :-)
Some next gen LED panels and some of these, I will only need a fan to circulate air :-)

There is a story here on them with the research. They could replace carbon filters, but I would have to grow the same strain in another room to see if product would be degraded. They say it has been proven not to effect the plants, or animals. They use these in barns now to kill the animal odor.

My question is, is that wattage the total, or the light only wattage?

Re: Air-Cleaning CFLs - what do you think?
What the original post is saying is that the light uses 15 watts to produce the same amount of light that a 60 watt incandescent household bulb does. In the grow world you ignore the equivelient wattage and go with the actual wattage which is 15 watts. That bulb will only add 15 watts of light for your plants. All floros are rated the same way. They all have a actual use wattage and a equivelient wattage. Always go with the actual wattage when adding numbers. On ebay they sell a light that is 65watts yet they advertise it as equal to a 500 watt light. Lots of new growers jump on it because they think they are getting 500 watts of light when they only get 65. No light bulb out there can jump up wattage. Period. A 15 watt bulb is a 15 watt bulb no matter what anyone or anything says.

Re: Air-Cleaning CFLs - what do you think?
Actually I was wondering if that was a 3 watt deionizer and a 12 watt bulb or if the 15w was referring only to the light. I've been a professional aquarist for many years and tend to ignore wattages and go by lumen output anyway.

Re: Air-Cleaning CFLs - what do you think?
doesn't running an ionizer tend to have more dust settle on surfaces
due to the charge/static electricity ? when you run the bulb does it get dusty faster than a regular bulb? |

I just read that they do and you should hang aluminum foil in the area it's gathering for easy removal.
