Shrinkage

Hello all,

I'm getting close to harvesting my first crop, and I was wondering what to expect in terms of 'shrinkage' in the size of the bugs. I understand that the true weight will decrease by around 75%, but what about the size of the buds?

Yes you do lose a ton of weight due to the fact water weighs a lot..

As far as size... this really depends on drying, curing method.

I roll my buds in jars as they dry for a about a week to "compress" them. I like tighter nugs and this is the way I found works best for me and my buds end up 50-60% "smaller" by volume give or take.

As far as how much they shrink.. again depends on the strain or type of bud. How dense was the bud to begin with etc etc.. Expect 50-60% decrease in "size" or appearance of size, but it really does vary..
