Hi ive got another thread under the grow room journals but was told id be able to get some info from the hydro section.
I need to know everything basically as ive got a hydro system going at the mo and....well its a GT205+ NFT system ive got some instructions with it on how to grow tomatoes but thats not to helpful lol...its got a pump on and im curious as to how many times i should be pumpin water from the tank onto the roots etc ..should it be running constantly ?..hope not as ive been turning it on for maybe 15 mins a couple of times a day. Ive got 3 plants going in it but think its only going to be big enough to do 2 ok sized ones i'll maybe pot the other into clay balls an make some sort of something to see how it dose but ..can anyone give me a few guidelines as to what im supposed to be doing to make these littlens grow right. 03-11-08_0203 - 420 Magazine Photo Gallery |

Hi there Hoodwinked, I have a few answers and a few questions for ya.
I was wondering whats under the cover? (are the rockwool sitting on a mat, clay, etc...) just curious.... ![]() Can the plants stand up without the supports (straws and such)? If they can I would turn the fan down till theyre just swaying and as they thicken up over a few days turn it up and so on, gotta get em strong enough to hold the weight of the buds posting them up now will keep that from happening. I irrigate my system for 15 minutes every 2-3 hrs during daylight hours, starting as soon as the lights get full strength(about 5 minutes after they turn on); and stopping 2 hours befor the lights go out. That's just what seems to work in my ebb and flow system. Surf the posts.....Hope it helps

Hiya and thanks for the reply,
firstly yes the rockwool cubes are sitting on matting i got with the ntf ..the plants with the straws....ive not actually tried them for a good wk or so since i put the straws on them...it wasnt easy gettin them on i was hoping ...well id not actually thought about it i was hoping the plant would grow out of it like we do clothes lol..then id be able to just pull the straw off when the stem was thicker n stronger but ...maybe i should try remove them and prop them up with some lolly pop sticks or something ? i seem to have a problem with my humidity at the moment and my temp..ive got a fan in there but my temp is around 90 and my humidity is around 27 and when i first started it ..i didnt have a themomitor just some tiny humidity dial ...that always read around 40-45 ..it probably dosnt work right but i got something earlier that reads both and me humidity is around ....27 at the mo ...any ideas what i can do to alter this ? ive got some small pc fans i could put in there or another desk fan im just wonderin if thats what i need ?....and i found out today the system im using ..well im supposed to be just letting it run constantly so the guy who sold it me says lol...but hes just tryin sell me it really an dosnt care weather anything bloody grows or not sooo ...should i leave it on constant ? ..need go do this n that but i'll be back :P thanks for the help so far fly |

After some thought I broke out the bong and grow bible
![]() It says you gotta have a strong root system first, and you need to irrigate 24-7 with constantly aerated nutrient solution. Says "proper incline, volume and flow of nutrient solution are the key elements". Says if it dries out for a day roots can die, so be careful. looks like the guy at the store was right ![]() Good luck 2u
