cleaning ph meter electrode?

Hello!

I was just wondering....... would it be okay to clean an electrode for a digital ph meter by putting it in GH pH Down (instead of HCl), and rinsing with tap water?

Do you HAVE to have HCl and distilled water to clean the electrode with, or would this method work?

PS. Didn't know under what section to put this in............ so i just put it in indoor soil cultivation, wich is what i'm using the ph meter to do..... :)

You should be ok, but if you were measuring hydro I would only use the recommended solution.
