Angela Ferro is taking her crusade to legalize medical marijuana to national TV on Sunday when she is to appear on MSNBC's Taking the Hill with Patrick Murphy.

The Springettsbury Township mother of two has been fervently campaigning for Pennsylvania to legalize the medical use of marijuana, a drug she and her husband, Chris Ferro, believe may help their 13-year-old son, Michael, who has Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, a rare, incurable form of epilepsy triggered by light.

Angela Ferro said Michael's doctors have told her they believe medical marijuana could help control Michael's seizures and if it was legally available in Pennsylvania, they would prescribe it for him.

Accompanying Ferro on the talk show will be state Sen. Mike Folmer, R-Lebanon, who sponsored SB 1182, also known as the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannibas Act, that strictly provides for the production of medical marijuana from the seeds through the distribution to licensed physicians.

The bill passed the Senate in September and currently is before the House Judiciary Committee.

The Ferros told the Daily Record/Sunday News in an earlier interview they are just seeking a "better quality of life" for Michael.

Angela Ferro is to appear along with state Sen. Mike Folmer, R-Lebanon, on MSNBC's Taking the Hill at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30.

Both Ferro and Folmer are working for the legalization of medical marijuana.
