Bill Palmer has a message for Peel Police: Forget the cash and give him
some grass. Palmer, 37, who is infected with HIV and can legally puff for medical reasons, said the police offered last week to give him $310 to settle a dispute over a bag of pot. But he says he doesn't want the cash. Police wrongfully seized the bag of pot at Pearson Airport last May. It had been sent to him by a B.C. compassion club. The police later sent it on to another legal puffer. "I want the cops to buy me back my dope," Palmer said. "It's the least they can do after they left me suffering for a year without it." Det. Ian Calder said Palmer is in an unfortunate situation created by a law that allows him to possess dope but doesn't allow anyone to send him any.
