Seven people were arrested after police seized 1,726 hydroponically grown
marijuana plants worth $1.1 million during raids on five Ajax and Pickering homes. Durham Regional Police, Port Hope Police and several new recruits armed with search warrants also seized about $228,000 worth of sophisticated growing equipment during the raids on Monday. The busts bring the number of alleged illegal Durham "home-grow" operations shut down to 63 this year. Police are searching for the occupants of a Windebanks Dr. house in Ajax, where they seized 315 plants and $58,000 worth of equipment.
