Eh, it's been more or less established that its not causing cancer, especially anywhere near the rate of tobacco. However, it is not good for lung health in general. Anything with smoke is bad for your lungs, just by virtue of being smoke.

You are right Boss I guess. Since I quit cigaretts I have had a slight wheeze and herb smoke actually DOES loosen my chest so you may be right.

thank-you Herb Fellow for your warm welcome. Truth be told, I am actually smoking Malawi Gold currently which is much different to green. It comes in 'cobs' which are buds or 'heads' wraped in maize or bannana leaves tied up with hemp cords made from the stalks. The method is an ancient African method of curing and the pollen from the male plants is sprinkled over the heads before they are put into the cobs and then several process s are then performed on the cobs. When they are complete the cannabis is yellowy gold, hence its name. There is also Black Gold which is basically just Indica instead of Sativa. I love them both but if I have to comunicate with other human beings then Gold is the one that allows me to express myself better, although through a constant grin!

That sounds good. I know that constant grin thing! That is a very interesting curing method. Does the cannabis retain adequate moisture wrapped in the leaves? I would love to try it. Do you know the processes that are performed on the cobs?

I have been investigating the method for a while now. I still dont know all the secrets but I do know the following having tried it a few ways semi-successfully(I will have to try harder to get the full process and order for us both but those bushmen dont speak english and are reluctant to share their secrets as to keep it their own)
:there is a few days in the air hanging up, and then in the morning they are wrapped and pollened. Immediately put in the sun for a few hours but not at zenith where it would damage the THC content ie. up till 11:00(South African weather). This stopps mold and fungus from forming on the cobs. There is still moisture present. Then they are either put between two sheets of metal, bricks or concrete slabs pressed together and left near the fire during the night or burried and the fire is lit on top of the earth where they are burried. The bushmen cook on fire with mopani wood(slow burning wood or drift wood is also good although not the same) so there is a always fire involved at some point. The next morning they are ready. Some leave it between the bricks or underground for a week. I had a friendly bushman do my harvest for me once, and it was immaculate!

That I would watch! Frustratingly funny how something that's such a big part of life cannot be shown in public. Not even as a documentary. Maybe if the NatGeo and other channels could show something constructive, though not conservative and stopped trying to hypnotize us all with murders, kidnappings and subliminal messages to buy, and got a grip, we'd learn about something we could use in our own lives.
