Medical Marijuana Patients Protest Caps On Supply

OLYMPIA — Medical marijuana activists plan to pack a state Health Department hearing to protest limits on how much pot a patient can have.

They're upset with the state's proposed caps, which will define the amount of marijuana and plants that are considered a legal two-month supply under state law.

State officials once wanted to propose 35 ounces and 100 square feet of plant-growing area. But Gov. Christine Gregoire thought that was too high, and ordered the Health Department to meet with law enforcement.

Afterward, the proposed limits dropped to 24 ounces of usable pot, along with six mature plants and 18 immature plants. Those are the same limits used in Oregon.

how about filing for due process in regards to booze so that its illegal to have more than 24 containers of any booze on a property without a permit for excess booze and each can of beer would be a container..... bet that would get attention.....

Those amounts would suit us fine here on Hawaii. 24 ounces is close to what Irv Rosenfeld receives every 60 days under Federal Guidelines as a Federal MMJ patient: Irv recieves 300 rolled Marijuana Joints per month weighing in at 11.5 ounces, in its own humidor. Again, I believe that the Federal Government has set precedence by allowing, growing & shipping to the 5 or so remaing Federal Marijuana Patients.
