Bulgaria: Pot Plants Seized in Government Garden

Bulgaria is waging its war against marijuana and has seized six tonnes of marijuana from fields and private yards, including a priest's garden.

One recent raid was a slight embarrassment for the government as the cannabis plants were located growing amongst the flowers outside government headquarters in Sofia.

The local authorities had to acknowledge the plant's existence when photos were published in the Troud newspaper, prompting the authorities Thursday to acknowledge their presence

"We have the pleasure to inform you that the problem was immediately and literally rooted out," a government spokesperson said.
