![]() Been play'in catch up on your grow. Damn. Glad to see your out of the woods on all the problems you've had. Nice look'in crop! Kinda nice to have another grow to compare to, you started your flowering 5 days before me. I've been lucky so far, as I knock on simulated wood.

My wife is the patient, and I am the caregiver. We did it that way because the cannabis is a substitute for her sleeping meds. She hasn't taken one in months. But the physician who filled out our recommendation did it for 99 plants, grown in 100 sq.ft. or less, and no more than 4 pounds dried. If you want to discuss a strategy over how you might be able to get your doc to increase your legal limit, PM me. Above all else, stay legal. I went to a college football game last Saturday with a friend who is a Sheriff. Somehow, we got to talking about Medical MJ and his words were: 1.)Lot's of money to be made....legally. 2.)Easy to sell, once word gets out that you've got some good stuff, selling it isn't a problem 3.)perfectly legal with a doctor's recommendation. The sheriff won't give you any trouble at all. 4.)If you break the law: IE growing more than your limit or more than 99 plants, sell it to someone who doesn't have a reco, allow minors to get into your stash/steal your grow or some other irresponsible behavior, you're gonna get in big trouble, and they may even call the feds in if children are involved in any way. So, hypothetically speaking, I said to him, "So I can grow 30 plants in my yard, and as long as I'm not over my recommended amount, and I don't sell them to kids and such you won't give me any trouble at all? His exact words: "More power to ya! You would be a law-abiding citizen if you did that. In fact, my employment agreement with the sheriff allows ME to grow legally if my wife has a reco.....we should do it." Mind you, I didn't let on in any way that I was growing, but his last little quip made me almost fall out of my chair. He was serious. The times, they are a changin'

Hi DocBud and setting sun
Here in Hawaii I can have 4 big plants and two small ones. Big means tree size to me.

It would be very rewarding to grow medical marijuana for more patients, and not just financially.
I would love to do that, maybe with a trusted partner so that I wouldn't have to worry about leaving my plants for a few days. That's quite an amazing conversation. I'm still trippin' on it, lol. I'd have to consider his remark if he was serious and I had the right yard. very interesting.........

You got it sun
I am a provider too. But I really don't know how to find people in need. There is no list or any thing that could help me find folks. Put an ad in the paper, I think not. I've voiced my opinion before. Even if I just broke even I would do it. You know, pay for my expenses and it would be a go. There's probably a form for this, if not there should be one. peace

I've got a couple sources who will take my surplus....provided I actually have some and it's quality. The main thing for me is to provide a healthy product. I think it's different in Hawaii...but here in CA if you really want to find someone to give your surplus to, it's not that hard. The only thing I would stress is the obvious: Make sure you're legal.

I love the fact that we can grow 12 plants per patient, legally! I couldn't imagine having 90 plus. I will be getting my patient card next around as well. That will bump us up to 24 plants. But ours has to be in a locked space, no outside grows in the yard. I would love to try greenhouse grow as long as I can lock the greenhouse door, and know that I am legal. The police in MI seem to be pushing the boundries on enforcement, but then the law is still new here.

I still have at least two week till I harvest anything....hopefully more like 3 or 4....I lost a full 10 days of growth with my troubles, but they seem to be back in action again. here's a question for everyone: when checking tricomes, what part or parts of the plants do I check? I'm gonna harvest with about 25% Amber, but still plenty of cloudy and a bit of clear. I want to emphasize a bit more of the cerebral buzz and a bit less of the couch lock.

I try to take a random sample when it's plants I don't know, something I've never grown before. One or two budsites from the top, middle and bottom helps me gauge the rate of maturation and learn something about that particular plant/strain's genetics. Traditionally, the top of a plant matures sooner than the bottom, which has given rise to the practice of staggered harvesting on the same plant, although there are exceptions to this. Autoflowering strains, for example tend to be small, metabolic powerhouses that exhibit concurrent bud formation, tricome maturation and overall growth, allowing for a fairly uniform harvest, with respect to 'tricome color'. It's always a lil' different plant-to-plant, however, once I've become familiar with a strain's harvest window, I'll usually just grab the lowermost budsite on each plant, mark it, and use it as the 'harvest indicator'. This quick-check method is really only applicable after growing a specific plant/strain to harvest a few times. That's me... It's an important and practical question Doc, and I'd love to hear how everyone does it! Good Growin' bro, I haven't said much lately, because there simply isn't much to say. I think you're being a tad hard on yourself, because the progress and results in this grow so far have exceeded the norm for most 'first grows'.

And, a sincere thanks for the compliments. I really appreciate that. As for me being hard on myself....if you knew what I did for a living, you'd understand why....I have little to no room for error in what I do, and doing a good job isn't acceptable....I've got to do a perfect job. I certainly won't hold myself to those standards when it comes to growing, but I can't grow against my nature! I can't fight nature, bugs, storms, power outages, etc.....but I sure as hell can learn enough to cope with it all. Growing reminds me of playing poker, which is another of my passions. In poker, like growing, there are certain rather important variables that can't be forseen or controlled. However, people who are good at either have one thing in common: whether through instinct, hard knocks, study, or a combination of all three, they know how to adapt and win....consistently. I want to know what's going to happen, from when I germinate seeds to when I fight the bugs, to when I dry and cure. If I can do that, I'll do an above average job....and hopefully a great job in time. BTW, Marijuana is the next wine industry. The art and science of making wine has come a long, long way in the last 30 years....from growing, to packaging. What we're smoking now is comparable to drinking Gallo chablis out of the box in the 1970's. Sure, it tastes like wine and gets you drunk....but the stuff you can get nowadays is not to be compared! Pot is just starting down that road, IMO. I am looking forward to embracing and profiting from this new-born industry. ![]() Sorry I write so much....you should see my personal grow logs.

Not to side track but man im PISSED off! i spent all that money for genetics and ALL OF THEM WERE MALES! The Purps i got from BC Bud Depot turned out ALL males. i spent money and time for NO Purps smoke! i was really looking forward to smoking buds that have "a high with no ceiling". Do anyone have a suggestion on what i should do? i kept the best 3 males but i fear putting my garden at risk. The males are still vegging but showing pre-flowers.

I check both frosty little bud leaves and snip a piece of the bud.
On trich checks, I've also noticed that the tops seem to mature faster than the lower buds, and also that each plant has its own schedule to some degree. Unless I want to chop each plant individually or do the staggered harvesting that andy mentions, I just have to average things out and decide when *most* of the plants are where I want them. I prefer a cerebral high while my wife prefers couchlock, so when I harvest depends on who the meds are going to be for also.
