i'll give an update tonight. The plants are getting there. I've gotta a feeling 2 males(hopefully) and 2 females.still got more seeds, just waiting to see how these go. Definetly different phenos, off the top. And the lil la women freak is still growing her side shoot. D.N.A says its stable but i think not wellthats just from my lil ladiy,NOT THAT I'M COMPLAINING!!! She was a freebie and beggers cant be choosers, right?

Sorry my wife has been hogging the camera, so i took this one with my phone, sorry if its blurry.But trust me you all get the idea. ITs a confirmed MALE..YES!!! he showd sex very very quickly!! this is ideal in my opinion.

He is the stongest of the whole group, showed sex quick which means his vigor is stong, and will compliment the genetics that I have currently. Here he is. The stud himself...:




I realized that it would benifit mypocket to just put him in the middle of all the ladies that he will pollinate. His orgy (lmfao)will consist of the fallowing crosses:

Purple Widow x 96' Bubba Kush(I'm planning on back crossing this w/ the bubba to bring the strength of the bubba out, then back with the P.W once more for added color)
Purple Widow x Rainbow Kush(This is just going to a damn fine cross no matter what happens)
Purple Widow x L.A Women(I have no f*ck'n idea what this going to come out like[I love not knowing])
Purple Widow x White Widow(well this is just going to be for added potentency, then once I find a plant with the most color then she will back crossed)
Purple Widow x ? (we'll see what comes about)

Thanx wheel I just cant believe it showed sex so quickly..never had one show that quick. I just saw a grow and his was a damn bush before it even showed signs of be a male. I love someone anyone to explain that one. Not that i'm complaining, knowing this puts me way ahead of schedule!!. This seriously puts me months ahead on this program. I seriously have a (((HUGE))) smile on my face. That also puts this journal ahead, so no waiting to see the males, it's going to be flower time in a few weeks hopefully. It all depends on the males size. But i wont be able to cross the L.A women til i get some clones from her but either way, all the others are ready to start the party. ((Bowchickabowwow))

I have a question for all..do you think because the male plant senses female flowering plants, thats the reason why it showed signs of being a male so quickly? Just a question that popped into mind. Cause you see people wait months just to see what sex their plant are and this just took a few weeks at the most. the male is on a veg schedule to. I'd love to get some input. Thanx

I suspect that plants do communicate chemically, and that it's very plausible that male plants can sense when the ladies are receptive and adjust their schedule to ensure survival.

I'd be surprised if experiments haven't been done to prove or disprove this with MJ or other plants.

So today i confirmed 1 male 2 female Purple Widow and 1 female L A WOMEN. I'll try to post picts tonight.

I must say these seeds were a great choice. Definetly good breeding. Purple Widow shows signs of sex quickly, so no waiting impatiently. Strong seed stock. Olny lost 2 in the process. This being out of 12 seeds. And yes i still have more stocked away. I've got skunk #1, Purple Widow, the O.G Black Widow, Road runner (thanx for all the help Southern Weed with getting the info on this strain), and a few more but thats all in due time. So i hope you all enjoy. I figure in about 3-4 weeks it will be time to start the pollenation/flowering process. i just want to get some cuttings first. Then its on. I know its going to be a while but trust me when i say this will be a great show far all to see.

thanx fatblunt..LOL..Yeah most people hate males. I say hey god wouldnt have made em, if he didnt want us to use em right? As far as the bubba kush goes, i'm going to try to let one of my flowering girls grow out until she pops some nanners and self pollenates(hopefully).And thanx to a former 420 member, Hope all is well down under!!YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!! so heres a small tutorial with some old downloaded picts I had from a while ago. They were downloaded of the internet, so i cant take credit for doing the picts, but i've have used this process in the past. I figured it would help some people get an example of how to collect pollen from a male flower.:

First off male flowers:



Next lst the plant so he is set horizontly above a glass baking dish (the glass surface makes it easiet to scrape up):



When it comes time for the males sacs to open they wil open into the baking dish:





It will the pollen will look just like this:



Scrape it and scoop it:



And jar it :

Then store in a nice dark cool place. I use a fine tip painting brush to spread it on the flowers. this will help ensure that you dont get it all over the entire plant if you just want to seed one or two branches. Hope this helps everyone out.

But, for the record, with this grow I will let the male pollenate each plant as a whole. So i can hopefully get to see all the phenos of each strain, and pick out the strong males/females for breeding and stablizing...ahhhh

UPDATE:

So i go to check up on my lail girls and what do i see..A male flower that opened it sac!!HOLY SHIT THIS IS WAY TO EARLY!! So heres some picts from it.







After noticing this i went ahead and just set up the lil breeding area. Heres the stud and this round of ladies (male: Purple Widow; females: Rainbow Kush, Sour diesel, White Widoow, '96 Bubba Kush):





After i got that all situated. I took the pollen out of the sac, let it dry, then applied it very carefully to a couple bubba kush buds. It might be to far along for the pollen to activate the receptors in the female plant and may not procuce seeds. But hey it was worth a shot. I applied it on a lower branch. I was planning to chop the tops then let the bottom nugs get denser so at least the area that I applied it to will have more time to hopefully produce some seeds. So thats the update. It looks like the games have started earlier then expected. As for the next round the ladies will consist of L.A Women, back crosses of the seeds produced, and maybe I'll pull the seed stash out and find another strain to play with, as well as a strain that i got from a friend recently that lost it's name somewhere. Well now its time to ...
