Yea.. I've already started my current grow. Pretty much same as last. :p
I started with seeds , again given to me from a pal. It was great herb, on the Indica side of the fence I believe and was very stony smoke.
I started the seeds on 1-12-12 so today they are 20 days old.
I am growing in a home mix of topsoil and sphagnum that I think will work well.
The Nutes are Gen. Hydro. and I'm using a 250w HPS on a 12/12 schedule from seed. Their first baby picture ! :circle-of-love:
I'll post more as I progress. :peace: peace, me

Re: I'm Back yet again ! 12/12 - 250w HPS - Unknown Seed

Looks like you had a little bit of a nute burn early on??
Yea... Actually I think they were starving and not getting enough food.
I was feeding them very weak solution until yesterday when I transplanted them into the containers you see in the pics. I also fed them full strength nutes for the first time yesterday. The Yellowing was there before the transplant. Before I transplanted them, they were in the starter plugs and cups.

I'll post more as I progress. :peace: Peace, Me

The plants have shown their sex ! Had 2 males and promptly killed them :p
Now I'm left with 4 females , which isn't bad , since I started with 7 beans. :)
Will take pics tomorrow and post. :peace: peace, me

I was going to ask about the leaves but you answered that. They are looking good though and maybe since you increased the nutes the yellowing will stop.

Talk about growth spurts ! I just found these were female 5 days ago, took a pic 4 days ago and Just took a new pic right after lights out. Feeding full nutes now. I'm pretty stoked, they're growing like weeds. :p

Will post more as I progress :peace: peace, me

24 Days 12/12 from seed
02-05-12.jpg

Time for a little update. All 4 Females are doing well, too well, perhaps. One has stretched so much that I had to be a bit brutal with her, so I bent her top 6" over hard this morning and by this evening she had started curing back up. This plant we love so is amazing in it's hardiness when treated right !
Anyway... It's been 36 days now 12/12 from seed so I decided it was time for a new pic !

I'll post more as I progress ! :peace: peace, me

12/12 from seed!?! I'm quite impressed with how damn big they have got! Nice grow man!
Yup, 12/12 from seed... and thanks ! They DO seem to be doing well !
I'll be glad when they stop stretching and start filling out. Lotza nice nodes getting ready to develop !

:peace: peace, me

Just a quick Pic update. All four girls doing well. Supercrop went well on tallest.
Will post more as I progress... :peace: Peace, Me

Just a pic update, girls re doing well. The tallest is really requiring a lot more nutes, may have to adjust the mix a bit.
Will post more as I progress. :peace: peace, me

Hello All...
Today is day 82 for the 4 girls. They're looking good but the trics are still clear.
They *should* be clouding up any day now. It's SO very hard to not start cutting nugs to smoke , it smells so wonderful ! But I'm being patient and using the loupe daily to check. I wanna go pretty amber on these plants, I'm looking for the couch lock ! :p
Anyway, just stopped in to post a little bud porn and say heyaz !
Will post as again I progress. :peace: peace, me

82 days 12/12 from seed.

looking very nice mate, would love to know what the dry weight is so keep us posted when you find out, you for big plants considering you went 12-12 from seed, i was thinking about trying it myself but wasnt sure on the yield, some people only get 7grams of 1 plant but looks like your going to get a lot more than that, did you add more lights or do anything to get them that big, its seems amazing you got buds like that from 12-12

I've changed nothing from the beginning.
Same 250w HPS (it is weak and needs a new bulb)
Same nutes and 12/12 light throughout the grow. I'm hoping to harvest soon, just waiting on the trics to mature.

I've seen plants well over 5-6 feet on a 12/12 grow. Bigger pots, better soil/nutes, etc. My plants are in relatively small containers, like 6 quart (slightly larger than a gallon jug) and have seemed to do well. They ARE getting a bit root bound now but hell...it's been 83 days ! :p

I DID introduce a heavy mixture of sphagnum into the mix , believing it helps the roots to breath. I'm sure if I had used larger containers the plants would have been larger.

I didn't fim or top the plants at all.

I did super crop the largest plant and it ended up with the largest cola. Go figure, lol.
Anyway... I'll post more with pics in a few days.

sounds crazy getting that from 12-12, why do people choose to veg if they can get results like this, ive seen people get less results after using a veg cycle first, im going to soak 5 seeds tomorrow and when they go in pot go strait to 12-12. not sure what yield ill get using cfls, but ill give it a try and post the results, ill start another journal for them once they go into the pots,

do you know if its best to let them sit on windowsill or even veg for a day or 2 until the seeds have broken out the soil or after planting in soil can i wack them strait under 12-12

donpaul.p ... I use paper towels to germ my seeds...

I germ 8 seeds, plant them in the final pot as soon as they sprout, starting 12/12 when I do plant them and pray for females. This time I ended up with 4 girls out of 8 original sprouts I planted.
My current plants showed they were female 19-20 days in, the boys showed a bit earlier, which was good and they died quickly. :p

As SOON as I was positive a plant was male, I promptly killed him. That's the method I've been using the last couple of grows and it's worked well for me. If I only got 2 girls, I probably would have tried again and topped the hell outta the old girls.

I copied the following from another page, but it's basically how I start my seeds,

Here is a simple 5 step process you can use when germinating cannabis seeds.

1. Your Cannabis Seed Sandwich

Place your seeds on a clean, damp paper towel and then put another wet paper towel over the top. It’s highly recommended that you use water that is ph neutral – possibly even distilled. Tap water is usually fine – as long as it is suitable for drinking. Don’t worry too much about chlorine in the water as it can actually aid the seeds by battling parasites.

The water needs to be at room temp.

2. Stash Em’ Away

Place the wet paper towel you are using for germinating cannabis seeds in a dark place, like a kitchen cupboard or a small closet. (I just put a large bowl over mine. Keeps 'em dark AND holds in moisture) You want it to be a bit warm—about 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep a close eye on your seeds and moisten the towels every time they begin to dry out. You should be checking on them about 2 or 3 times a day.

3. Watch Those Bad Boys Hatch!

After roughly 2 days (Could be sooner, mine generally sprout in less than 36 hours) in the warm, dry closet, the seeds should begin to crack, swell, and split. Once tiny bits of white root starts begin to emerge, it is time to stop soaking them – they are ready to be planted! If you continue soaking them with the white roots already growing, you can cause problems in your roots later on.

4. Time to Bury Them and set the light cycle to 12/12

5. Pray for girls :)

Hope this helps :)

thanks for the info, it sounds like you have done a couple of 12-12 grows then, this will be my first, i got 10 seeds so ill soak 5 and see what happens as i have still got other plants in veg at the minute so they will be going into flower as well in the next couple of weeks, i have never had a seed not sprout yet, i use the same method as you described and i put mine in a dark tub with wet paper towel then i place them in the hood of my fishtank, its dark and the temp is constant due to been tropical fish, the hood holds the lights and things like that so i leave the light off, so far every seed ive soaked has sprouted and grown, so uptil now ive not had one seed fail me, i am doubting this auto though, i soaked it and it split as normal and i potted it but the growth seems real slow, i left it few days and nothing then pulled some soil back and saw the growth but it was ony tiny so not sure if it will survive, ill know by tomorrow anyway as its just under the soil now so if its going to live then it should be out by tomorrow sometime,

as you sound like you have tried 12-12 before what kind of yield do you get and how long on average does it take from putting it in the pot to harvesting the plant,
