In Search of a Mother Plant

Hello 420 world. i haven't been on here in a long time ... well i haven't posted but of course im lurking around. So Ive had a couple of grows after the last one i posted here... that i didn't really finish. but now im trying something new. i want to find and sustain a mother plant so i can grow from cuttings and not seed.

so im starting with six seeds
3 red devil
3 purple high
under a 120watt t5 at 24/7
2 blue
2 red
bulbs

Ok i haven't posted photos in a while and never on the new site set up.

So i got my first sprout today. it was one of the red devils i planted . after 7 days . i'll keep the other seeds for another week and hope they sprout before then . i think i'll plant a few more as well and probably end up with too many plants and not enough space as usual . haha .well that's about it for now .

hello to all . i have been having some problems germinating seeds on account that many of them were older seeds but i some did germinate one pineapple express a cross between b52 and top44 im waiting for a second one to sprout...... the red devil is doing good had some heat issues and some leaf damage but now its seems to be doing good .... here are a couple of pics.

ok its been about a week and a half since ive done an up date. so the red devil turned out to be male so im gonna flower that one under my little led just so i can collect some pollen. the pineapple express and 52/44 were just trans planted into larger containers so they can fill out ill post a pic of them in thier new pots tomorrow..... i also planted about 8 auto flowers that are a cross between top 44 and a mystery plant from my first journal one of those eight seeds i planted already spouted but they are auto flowers so i cant make a mother plant from them . im gonna germinate the last couple of my red devil seeds to see if i can get a female. if the pineapple xpress is female then im gonna make it a mother plant and take clones from it to flower.... if the 52/44 is female ill just flower her cuz its an auto anyways. here are some pics.

well its been a couple of weeks. here are some updates.. from the left the new red devil, the 3 little ones are the top44 crosses , then the 52/44 and the pine apple express which is growing like a bush

of the 8 seeds i planted 3 of them popped up

and are doing pretty good but one has some crazy brown spots that are kinda spreading i think its ph related

... the 52/44 has some of it to but only on one leaf

. if anyone knows what it could be beyond ph imbalance i welcome your input .. i moved the male red devil to flower so i can collect some pollen .

i then planted my last 3 red devils in hopes of a female only one of them popped up so im hoping for a female so i can clone and make more seed .

its been a little while but here is what is going on. so i set up my big tent that is 4x3.

this is the group from the left the first 2 are top44cross , in back red devil then another top44 cross then the 52/44, and then the pineapple express. The pineapple express turned out to be female so im just waiting for a little cabinet i ordered to set up a veg and clone area.

here is a pic of the pineapple and its pre-flowers don't ask me how it grew naturally with the perfect canopy dumb luck i guess haha .....

here is the 52/44 which grew like a robot so perfect with the spacing and a thick stalk it is also female which is exciting because they are supposed to be heavy producers im gonna grow her out in a 2gal hempy.

here are 2 of the top44 crosses in their permanent homes also hempys

and the red devil in back with the 3rd top44 cross also in hempys . the little hempys are in 3/4 gallon containers i grew 4 plants out in the same size containers last summer and got about 1/4 lb from the four of them. once i get my cabinet for the pineapple im gonna put the others in to flower .

this last pic is the male red devil flowering but its not producing pollen sooooo idk whats up ill let it go for a few more days then comes the chop and off to the freezer for hash making.

Hey Falcore, my gimpy had that same issue with the brown spots on the leaves almost look like rust in a way.
so i ended up chopping off those leaves and then it started to spread upwards so more leaves came off.
its healthy now but where im new to growing i had no idea what it was i figured if i got rid of the problem
leaves it would go away. i thought i over feed it nutes or like you think ph issues but out of all the plants
it was the only one that had that issue. im stumped.

oh and when you collect pollen how do you store it and how long would it be good for?

ya it could be a cal mag thing but i think its ph, i have only used this soil once b4 and i think my soil is kinda hot.... the last time i grew in it i had cut it with perlite but this time i didn't but i hope it doesn't get out of control hahaha .....the other time i grew out a male for pollen i saved it in a paper envelope and then put it in a plastic sandwich bag and in to a small tupperware and stored it into the freezer ..... i have heard its viable for up to a year but i never used what i saved so im not sure if its true however for what ever reason this male seems to be sterile :/ but im gonna let it continue to flower.

hello its been a while and the plants are really looking good i have had ph problems that i hope will be solved in the next few watering ........ im still 24/0 vegging ... two of the to44 crosses turned out to be female and one was male which i have flowering where i had the male red devil flowering .... i collected the pollen from that one and im still waiting for the other red devil to sex but its having a hard time because of the ph issues it looks stunted but i hope i can bring it back .... i also took about 9 clones from the pineapple express and she is doing great.... i want to flower her but i thinkn im gonna wait and top her 7 tops and try to root them in a few weeks ..... im planning to put the rest in to flower by sat. here are some pics.... to get a sense of size the large ones are 17-18 inches tall

hey its been sometime since i had an update the 4 plants that i have went into flower about 1 week ago i ended up flowering the pineapple express cuz it turned out to be a auto flower as are the rest of the plants in there i did keep the clones i cut just for the experience of rooting them i have them in my new veg cabinet i set up so i will see how big they grow so far 5 out o 9 rooted and i transplanted them into small containers i will put them into the flower tent when they look ready but i want to pollinate them with some of the pollen that i collected from the red devil. i am also flowering a male that is starting to Hermie. oops ..i also supercropped the flowering male just to try it out seems to have worked so far. here are some pics the big plants are about 26" now and growing .

hey everyone .... here is another update no pics but ill post a few in a couple of days. all the clones rooted and i transplanted them but as i said b4 they are auto flowers so they will go to flower very quickly but it is a great to get some cloning experience. the rest are also doing good in the flower tent getting taller and showing some buds ......... i also planted a feminized mazar kush seed last night that im hoping will sprout so that i can turn it in to a mother plant .... it was one of the free seeds i got with my last order ... i also have 2 bubba kush fem seeds that i will plant in about a month or so and see if i can get a mother out of one of those. thats about it for now ...
