re: First Time Grower - Long Time Toker - Any & All Advice Welcome

Nice and clean grow, sub'd. 45% isn't too low, I prefer 45-50% constant and I don't think you should trouble yourself for the extra 5%. How much longer do you plan on vegging before flipping to flower? Check out LST'ing your plants, especially the big one. It will help with light penetration to the deeper and more concealed nodes. Everything looks great though Surf, keep it up and you'll turn out some nice product. Looking forward to seeing the end!

I agree with the LST advice. If not that, defoliate the clone a bit, no light is getting inside, you're losing out. Everything does look good though. Subbed

re: 1st Grow 1st Journal - White Widow & Company

Everything still looks amazing. Accidentally watered with nutes back to back on my clone, thought I would see nute burn but so far in the clear! My slow starter Pineapple Chunk is finally getting some growth, so far seems to be the tallest out of the seeds. Although more stretching than bushy like the others. Ill post more pics in the next few days for some week 4 shots. Plants are about 7 in tall now, on 2 of the plants the fan leaves are starting to get MASSIVE, do I just let the girls grow and do their thing, or should I trim the monsters leaves off? Thanks guys

If you can tuck the leaves under, that is the way to go. If you do remove leaves, only take off what is hidden from light.

re: 1st Grow 1st Journal - White Widow & Company

OK guys were at 4 weeks in Veg today...I decided to get rid of the runt, Tai, bringing me down to 5 plants. Mainly for space and lighting but also was looking funky and deformed. The other 5 have been good. I do have one question, The 4 mj plants from seed went 6 days without needing to be watered, is that normal or is that a little long? The Big clone however, needs it every other day sometimes 2. Just curious. So, take a look and hand out some stellar input, critiques and compliments welcome:thanks:

re: 1st Grow 1st Journal - White Widow & Company

As for the watering, 6 days does seem a little long, although maybe not. Another grower I know has told me before of some plants that are 'drinkers'. Some plants need water every day, some every 3 days. I have 1 plant 2 weeks into flower and she takes about 1 pint almost every day. I have 1 plant in veg starting her 5th week, she is now on the same watering schedule as the other, but for awhile she only wanted water every 3 days. Strain, soil, air movement, light, temp...there could be may reasons. As for the spots, is it wide spread? Many plants? I do think you are looking good and should not be overly concerned.:goodjob::Namaste:

re: 1st Grow 1st Journal - White Widow & Company

Thanks Buds4all...No it's not widespread, just a few spots. Before I was watering every 3days. This is the first time it took 6days. Just hit 4 weeks yesterday day 21 in veg. Feels as though im on the right track, however, im a nube and really don't know lol they seeds are about 10 inches tall as u can see from above in the pics.

re: 1st Grow 1st Journal - White Widow & Company

Mine in flower need water every night, when in veg and not quite as large or producing they needed water every other day. As younglings about 12-20 inches tall I could soak the soil pretty well and it would easily be 3-5 days before they needed more depending on the week and size. Just like buds said, if you don't notice it spreading and the new growth doesn't look bad then you're most likely ok. Tie those girls down and let some light penetrate deeper.

re: 1st Grow 1st Journal - White Widow & Company

Lookin really good brother!

I only need to water about once a week with my girl, granted a flux is a bit different. She will drink up about a gallon and a half and that will sustain her for about 6-8 days. How often you water will all depend on how well your medium drains, the strain, temps, humidity etc.

re: 1st Grow 1st Journal - White Widow & Company

UltraDan, Thanks. I completely understand. Other have told me that roots organic has good drainage, honestly, I think I it could train better imo. but what do I know, noob here. My question is, Will adding more perlite to my roots organic soil help, and will too much perlite be bad? My humidity is around 52% Hit 5 weeks today. and it took another 6 days until needing water. Not seeing any harm to my plants or anything like that, just curious why it takes so long to drink. from everything else on here that I read most people water ever 2-3 days. Which my massive clone takes right now but because of how mature it is in Veg. I stopped spraying the girls thinking maybe I was spraying too much (at least once a day but stopped 2 weeks ago) causing it to still soak the soil. but that didn't help. Everything looks great in my opinion so im not toor worried right now. Just want to prevent problems from arising if I can.

re: 1st Grow 1st Journal - White Widow & Company

Ok guys, Hit 5 weeks today....All looking good I think. They are at about 13-14" in height. Thinking of flipping them to flower next week. Think its too early, shoud I wait 2 weeks or longer? The only deficiency ive seen thus far is the new growth of my white widow have yellow tips, my guess is slight nute burn which is weird cuz I last watered them with nutes, 1 week ago today and im just now starting to see it. Does it usually take that long to show deficiencies or is it something else? That's all I got for right now...Cant wait for some more good avice

re: 1st Grow 1st Journal - White Widow & Company

Yea, you could go into flower now or wait. Remember, the plant will grow 2 maybe 3 times as tall in flower, if you wait too long it might get cramped in your tent. I went to flower after 5 weeks, but that was because of space, if I could have waited an extra week I would have.

Yea, looks like a little nute burn. Just keep an eye on it, don't think you need to be overly concerned at this time.

You may not have enough perlite in the soil to provide proper air and water flow. You could try some things, like take a small stick and gently poke some holes in the soil, about 6 inches deep. I'm sure other more experienced growers in the forum might have a better idea.

re: 1st Grow 1st Journal - White Widow & Company

Ok cool thanks buds4all. I was just worried about losing too much yield flipping them at 5wks, but taking into consideration space lol so thank you. I'm flipping them tonight. Switching my 600w MH bulb for the 600w HPS. I also took your advice and put a couple of holes in my soil. Any other advice from anyone and everyone would be great thank you.

re: 1st Grow 1st Journal - White Widow & Company

Welcome Back 420, Its Day 38 (day 3 Flower) Everything is looking great imo. Just gave my ladies their first feed into flower. Tried the advanced Nutrient line from Foxfarm ( right now just the open sesame) on 2 of my ladies. Looking to see how much of a difference those nutes are compared to my roots organic, anyone want to chime in with some insight on that would be great. Ill post updates in a few days after the nute make their way through their system. :Namaste:
