As I've looked around the site here and read many, many posts, I noticed that some people have disclaimers in their signatures. Usually they say something to the effect of, "Anything I say I didn't really say".
My question is, are they necessary? I understand that The Long Arm of the Law can reach anywhere it damn well pleases but is there a legitimate reason for having these? Has anyone here been prosecuted for content posted on a website? |

No, they are not necessary. ;-) All of the servers for this site are located in Canada; in addition, as long as all the guidelines are followed, there is no reason to worry.

It makes some of us feel a little more secure in a very hostile environment (the wonerfull US of A of course). Thats all.

I understand completely. I still can't believe that one will go to jail for 20 years for growing a plant. I wonder if Canada would take someone who used to crack on Her frequently.
When I was younger, I never really bucked the system as I felt I was doing the right thing by following the rules. It was an interesting day when I realized the rules were wrong. |
