530collective was kind enough to post this:
First, read THOROUGHLY the Attorney General guidelines: "California Dept. of Justice - Office of the Attorney General" These describe how a collective may operate legally in CA. Then talk to the planning department in whatever city you're considering and find out if they have a ban, moratorium, special zoning or any other regulations for collectives. Then check out the following helpful info (chapters 5, 7, and 10): Document Library | About Medical Marijuana Finally, if it is at all possible, HIRE AN ATTORNEY." It may be more info than what you wanted, but the more you know the better.

Although the statute remains the same statewide, different cities and counties adopt different methods of accepting/rejecting medical cannabis (ie bans and moratoriums). Racefan's post (post #3) is a perfect example of how fast things change. The letter is dated Aug 2008. It almost 2010. I'm sure some changes and adjustments have been made since then. Is there a more recent/revised version of the guidelines that u know of? Thanks for all of the info and help u've provided thus far greengo (took me a min to get it. I like the screen name, lol).

There are drafts out there, but that is the most up to date "guidelines" that I could find. I suppose one could e-mail the Office of the Attorney General and ask Mr. Brown how he feels about things now...if any of you do let me know how that works out.
Ha, thanks, gotta love that southwest influence. Last edited by greengo840; 11-22-2009 at 01:45 PM. Reason: It's my secret and I'm not telling |
