I'm a newbie to the game to be, so to speak... am planning on moving to Mendocino county, to grow my own meds, and be happy can I join a coop to buy my excess?or i dunno

Mendocino county has several rules. no growing outdoors in the city limits of UKiah, Willits and I believe Fort Bragg. No more than 25 plants per land parcel no matter the size of that parcel. there is also a nuisance ordinance. All they need is one complaint of any kind like smell, traffic etc and they will shut your grow down. they are still adjusting their rules too. they have been waiting for this Kelly decision to determine the legality of plant count limits. Mendocino county isn't the safe come one come all county it was the last few years. A lot of people have moved into the county just to grow and the locals are having a fit. I have a friend who used to live in Ukiah at the same time I did and he keeps up to date on what is happening there and keeps me informed. I'm sure he's exaggerating but he says they are close to civil war there.lol

Although the statute remains the same statewide, different cities and counties adopt different methods of accepting/rejecting medical cannabis (ie bans and moratoriums). Racefan's post (post #3) is a perfect example of how fast things change. The letter is dated Aug 2008. It almost 2010. I'm sure some changes and adjustments have been made since then. Is there a more recent/revised version of the guidelines that u know of? Thanks for all of the info and help u've provided thus far greengo (took me a min to get it. I like the screen name,lol).

There are drafts out there, but that is the most up to date "guidelines" that I could find. I suppose one could e-mail the Office of the Attorney General and ask Mr. Brown how he feels about things now...if any of you do let me know how that works out.
