I was wondering, if a person in Nevada has a mmj card, is it then legal for him to buy while in CA? I would think that since it's legal in both states it would be okay, but maybe someone knows for sure?
Thanks |

CA residents who get CA recommendations can buy CA meds.

Right, but a prescription is a prescription, and Nevada doesn't have any dispensaries, and it's illegal to sell in Nevada. Why wouldn't CA honor NV prescriptions - or any other state that med mj is legal? If I had a NV prescription for say valium, couldn't I get it filled in CA?

CA docs don't write MMJ prescriptions. To answer your first question; no.

Wyliedog, I work to change reality but it is what it is. No US physician may write a prescription for MMJ. Yet. Check yours

No doctors write presriptions and that's where your analogy breaks down. Valium that's presribed in one state is fillable in any other state. If MMJ was prescribed your point would be valid.
But when speaking of Marijuana, doctors write recommendations not prescriptions. If they wrote a prescription they'd possibly be at risk from the Federal Government (FDA). This is because MMJs status as schedule 1 "no medicinal value". Some MMJ states recognize and respect the laws of other MMJ states, (reciprocity) but I'm not sure of the relationship between Nevada and California. However, since there's no prescription to fill this is a mute point in the context of your question. Hope this helps.
