This is to anyone witth comprehensive knowledge of MMJ in Ca or other States with active Compassion Centers!
I am a new MMJ patient in RI. There is not yet an operating licensed Compassion Center in RI but there are Three Legislated to be licensed. I am of the mind that Big Business will look to grab hold of MMJ in RI and have strong feelings against this happenning! We need to protect against opening a "Bad" Compassion Center. We need to make sure that Our Compassion Center is a model and beacon of light in the RI MMJ community and abroad learning from those who went before us and know the road not to travel upon. If anyone has any knowledge of business practices, pricing, hours of operation, pay schedules for employees or other relavent information please help us in RI build a better Compassion Center for the future MMJ patients. I believe MMJ should be treated like a Schedule II prescription with comprehensive safeguards to insure against leakage, theft, or diversion. We should take care that MMJ does not fall into the hands of children unless authorized by a Physician. That being said as we have a responsibility to the brave pioneers who enabled MMJ legislation, the current patients who are operating within the rules, and future America,to insure we do not get this wrong. If there are any good ideas and practices that currently work for the patient in other States please share them here. We as a whole in RI should work together with the State to insure Our Compassion Center is a place we want to conduct our affairs with dignity and respect. I believe that Our,RI Compassion Center, should have a "sliding scale" for MMJ patients who are low income disabled. We need to operate a system that insures availibility for high quality medication to those who can not due for themselves. If we act together and share pertinent information about policy and procedure that work, regarding MMJ and Centers, or CO-OP's, it is possible to preserve dignity, respect, and diversity in our Compassion Centers Nationwide, after all they exist at our pleasure and should work to assist us. While I am sure indiscretions happen everywhere,we must insure dignity and respect to those more fragile. The measure of a civilization is how good they treat their most vulnerable citizens. MMJ should be where legal covered by a healthcare reimbursement or a direct payer system, but untill that day we need to assist any MMJ patient obtain medication I would like to be part of group of patients collectively administering MMJ to those with need in a safe, clean, secure facility that respects every clients needs confidentially, while allowing them to enjoy an unmatched level of service and respect regardless of circumstance or current illness. We can leave behind a legacy with Our Compassion Center that will be legendary to those who utilize its services in the distant future Any suggestions, ideas, or criticisms are always welcome. Very well stated Brother Wingman508. I believe you have created a new line of work for yourself. Patient rights advocate for the state of Rhode Island and beyond. Thank you for that. You said in the beginning that you were a new MMJ patient in RI. So it all worked out for you? You found a doctor that works for your needs. Very happy if this true. Welcome aboard our new friend! Great to have you here you have much say and say it well, you have great posts. Hard to believe you were a heavy equipment operator. Not stereotyping of coarse!

I go to my Dr in about 8 hrs and am hopeful about this and am trying not to let the worry overcome me. If a cross section of specialists and ICU Dr's can give me the strongest morphine derivatives you could imagine changing my life and allowing me to walk and animate why not try eliminating or reducing the sole dependence on that modality of treatment? MMJ for pain is clearly a cutting edge medical advance and the proof should be told. I am very psyched at the possibility of utilizing considerably less opiod analgesics and hope my Dr can find a way of incorporating MMJ into my treatment and my PM routine. I have been with some great docs and some not so great docs but do know what it takes to control my level of pain across a spectrum of medication that is highly regulated and protected. I want to still be a thinking productive individual who is respected and informative about these latest advances in health care and treatment options. I have been treated badly by some healthcare professionals based solely on medication history and wish to shed the illusions about opiod therapy and tell about my new freedom using MMJ if approved. Funny about the Heavy Equipment operator and Teamster huh, it seems almost surreal until I am in agony again. It kicks in suddenly and without much warning I am useless at that time and very solemn. I truly thank you for the warm welcome and kind words Again I am not legit yet but have all papers filled out and awaiting Dr's approval at todays medication appointment. Pray for us. I see you are from The Cape it is my favorite place I love it and used to take the whole family to Truro, for July, and August, every year. Best Restaurant in Provincetown.... The Lobster Pot!!! Best Beach .... Race Point it used to be almost deserted and I had a sububurban 4x4 we could drive and fish on the beach. I bet those quite days are now gone to overpopulation, it used to be a beautiful secret only sailors knew now I look at Nantucket and become ill, but it will always be transcendental at the Cape and Islands. JFK National Seashore is the Best! i misspelled the last post sing off here it is again Altruistically Submitted, Wingman580 |

The benefits of Medical Marijuana need to be shouted from the roof tops. There are many in the medical community including my PCP, Pain Mgmt Dr. and Treatment Team who believe that Medical Marijuana has greatly benefited my condition and countless others. Long story short, Doctor signed State Form and supplied supporting documents. I submitted these documents and the app. fee and I'm told that in 15 business days I will be contacted for a photo I.D. and license. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Wingman
I am from california and a MMJ patient. I would tell you 1st off, don't believe all the negative spins you hear about dispensaries. A great deal of the problems associated with MMJ come from the illegal blackmarket. Now I'm not saying that growers or that people who utilize the blackmarket are the problem. It is the law itself and until it changes for everyone, everywhere there are going to be issues. Good luck to you and RI. Now RI needs to work on a plan for legalization.

Thanks Bonehead, I appreciate the good words. I do not know if RI will ever legalize this but then again I never thought RI would legalize MMJ.
Thanks Again
