Well, its finaly here folks. The government Vs. Medpot! Keep your eyes on this case, it is the most important case out there for us.

Notice the extremely lame excuses the government cites for wanting to keep pot illegal. As if they didnt, on a regular basis, approve chemicaly addictive pillsn for the general public to consume.

I dunno. The news coverage and information regarding the legal issue of weather thousands upon thousands of ill pateitns who rely daily on the relief provided by marijuana can continue to do so just doesnt seem to get the detailed coverage as an issue such as, oh, say MIchael jackson, or the latest sports scores ~_~ Ill post any information I can find regarding this case though.

It's not going so well, there is still 5 more court days ahead (I beleive) but so far the justices are just being stubborn.

Unbelievable. Again, I will mention that the government approves new drugs all the time, all of which have labels warning about the dangerous side effects. Yet Marijuana, which has been around for thousands of yeras but in the governments spotlight for 70+ years, somehow has a hard time getting approved to be even recognized as having any type of medicinal benefits. X_X

Exactly. If the case is lost, then noth8ing changes. LEgaly, medical users are still allowed to smoke in California. On the federal level, however, it is STILL illegal. If the case is won, then it will be legal for medical users BOTH on a state AND federal level.

No, theyd lose money big time. Growing pot is not very difficult, with some time and patience. If pot was given a medical status, then the pharmacutical industry would loe much of its product dominance because weed is A) easily grown by yourself, b) the possiblities for its use are extremely wide...from nausea, to headaches, to pain, etc....wheras with pharmacuticals, you have to buy a pill for each symptom, and c) honestly, the government would then have to justify the BILLIONS upon BILLIONS upon BILLIONS upon BILLIONS it has spent trying to stifle the plant, when that money easily could have been used for, oh, domestic homelessness, domestic hungar, domestic joblessness, school,s etc. etc. etc. Not to mention all the court cases that would be brought up again for people jailed for marijuana crimes.
DOnt get me wrong, i am completely for legalization...but those are some of the reasons the pharmacutical companies, which play a big part in our government (they fill their pockets) wont let this happen, or at least wont let it happen anytime soon. -PM |

Also, forget who put it out, some government branch, but a new study came out the other day showing at least 44% of all Americans are on one type of prescription medicine. 44%!!!!!!! Medicine is a big business. Any type of medicine that can easily be grown, and has a wide application for a variety of ailments, will of coure be persecuted by the companies who make millions off of the drugs THEY make.
