I was sitting around today, kinda bored.... looking at the garden, all the girls are doing great! I was thinking about what will happen to the excess medicine when this grow is over. If I were to just walk into a dispensary with the excess and ask that they distribute it as necessary to indigent members, could I deduct this as a charitable contribution on my taxes?

I'd be surprised if a collective or coop wouldn't accept the donation, but I don't think you should just approach a dispensary with medicine in hand w/o making advance arrangements.

Your tax deductability question is interesting, I don't know that I should weigh in w/tax advice other than to ask the IRS or personal accountant. I'd love to know the answer though
