Re: Stomach pains - seeking advice

Thanks spike69 & wolfbuddie.

My wife called her parents doctor & explained my situation with the assistant. The assistant is going to consult the doc & call back tomorrow basically to let me no my best route and if he will accept me as a patient. I never had a physical or anything before so he may start me on that, but to be honest I am a little nervous things may need attention. I havent had a family or steady doc since like 9 years old, so alot of neglect.

I also never mentioned that this also started after seeing a chiropractor. Not sure if it has anything to do with it. Been spending way too much time on trying to pin point what started it & what makes things worst. I got a great winter project to work on in the garage but cant touch it due to this. I took a bentyl today and again it kinda seems to help but not enough to confirm. I havent touched anything since the GD last night & can feel myself getting edgy. I snap at some of the most stupid crap & fall into a bit of depression. I did notice that one of the buds I got tend to help with the pain better so I am assuming it's more indica. I just want my life back but hey who wouldnt.

Edit: I also forgot to mention that my blood pressure was a bit high at the last doc I saw. First time I have ever had high BP. They just assumed I was nervous.

Re: Stomach pains - seeking advice

Hey all! The doc office still hasnt called back & every time I call they still claim they need to talk to the doc first. Kinda retarded if ya ask me. In the meantime I have been looking for more info & started logging things. It does sound like it is in the IBD family. I am hoping not as far as crohn's or anything. Can some of you peeps that have a bowel disorder share what disorder you have and what things you do to help such as what are your trigger foods and do large meals play a role. Any noticeable swelling, blood in stool, things of that nature. I had 2 days were I was doing relatively good but I think I let my guard down and started eating like normal & feel more discomfort again. I get a swelling on both sides of my abdomen muscles that start below my belly button & go what appears to be under my ribs. One side can swell more then the other & sometimes I wake up without swelling. I also feel like I am getting more sensitive to joint pain & the cold does not help.

Re: Stomach pains - seeking advice

Hello Pres,

I have a couple of questions and I hope they are not deemed invasive. First off, I have Crohn's disease. It's an awful disease. The AMA's prescription program, immuno deficiency disease med's etc...., can be worse than the disease. I've been battling this disease for 5 years now. I hope you don't have it. MJ is the only thing that has helped me deal with it. That and some diet changes. Do a web search for Celiac disease also. You might be suprised what you find out. You may find out some things that will fit your symtoms there.

OK, here are the 2 questions. 1. What is your age and 2, have you had a colonoscopy? Fistula's in the large intestine, especially near the tranverse/ descending angle can do what you have described. When I had my first colonoscopy the doctor had to byopsy 65 fistulas from my large intestine. Talk about pain. Another thing that you might have over looked is C-DIFF. I had C-DIFF for a year or so and it tore my guts up. The reason I didn't know it was C-DIFF was because of all the opiates I had to take because of some other serious things and pain I was dealing with. If you have no insurance and are broke remember that by law a health care facility may not deny you treatment. You will have to pay $10.00 a month or there are programs that have grant donations that might pick up the tab.

I'll keep you in my thoughts and I hope everything works out for you. Blessings,

PFirefly

PFirefly

At this point I dont consider any questions invasive. I just want my life back! I hear ya with all the meds, being bipolar they have tried me on so many meds its crazy. I have an extreme tolerance & have been on the maximum dosage of everything they put me on. Such as 1600mg of seroquel, 3500 mg of depakote and the list goes on. I do not take anything anymore other than the mj, it's just not worth it anymore. Especially when you see lawsuit commercials for something you just quit taking.

I am 29 and a colonoscopy should take place within 2 weeks. Actually just saw a doc yesterday & got a referral just waiting for the appointment confirmation. The new doc again clarified that my blood levels and ct were good & told me the only thing they didnt test was something to do with pancreas levels I think. The funny thing is he told me I did not have a bladder infection from the beginning & they just used that to push me out. He did however confirm that I have some enlarged lymph nodes. Thanks for the info on the various possibilities. I have read about all except the c-diff.

I also just found out that my old man's sis passed from stomach cancer. I dont know much about my family & honestly I'm pretty sure that's where my mental issues stem from. Just one of those things that you prefer to bury. I am on disability & insurance started for me back in october so I am thankful for that. Again thank you for the informative post & the blessings.

Re: Stomach pains - seeking advice

Well some good news I suppose. I go in for a colonoscopy at the end of the week so hopefully I will get some answers to this soon. Just hoping that this will figure something out & hopefully nothing bad. I had a bit of a break with this yesterday so I spent most of my day trying to get some work done in the garage. I'll tell ya, when you go through something like this for an extended period of time with no answers you learn to appreciate what good days you have. I feel sorry for others that have to deal with any type of issues on a daily basis. Much obliged to all who have posted, kinda helped keep me busy anyway. Until the next.....

I'm hoping many years filled with good days follow the answers from your colonoscopy.
You are much too young to be among sufferers more usual in my cronies.
I hope to hear good news. Benign syndrome treatable. There's reason for faith in technology.
I dedicate a smoke with desire to evoke, an end to your pain summarily.

I'm not sure if maybe the green stool was related to a disease/condition, but I know that drinking the dark blue "berry" gatorade turns mine green. Even one of the small 12 oz bottles. So maybe look into what you had to eat and drink.

Yeah I've been watching everything that I consume. It's good to know about the blue gatorade, I have some on the counter waiting for my all liquid diet day.

Re: Stomach pains - seeking advice

Well I got some good news, bad news & some more good news.

The Good: No signs of crohn's or anything serious!
The Bad: Awaiting biopsy results of three things & still don't have an answer!
The Good: I have been able to enjoy my companion in life for a few days with minor discomfort!

I had a rather weird experience during the procedure. They gave me two doses of whatever they were sedating me with before they started & continued giving me several more because it was not working. I must have had about seven in all. There was one spot where he was pushing that was just tender. When I came back my bp & heart were through the roof. I dont know what happened but I just got very overwhelmed & just felt pure anger in me. Mind you I was very polite to everybody but it just makes things worst when everyone surrounds you to monitor you. I just wanted to go home but they wouldn't let me because of my numbers. After some explaining they cut me loose anyway. I'm not sure what happened but a family member that was not invited just showed up to my appointment or I could of been upset that I didn't have any answers yet.

On a good note I immediately packed up when I got home & have had a decent amount in me sense without inducing the pain to bad. Not so good I started smoking again a few days ago & now have to quit again but I don't see that a problem.

I don't know what this could possibly be but it is still there but does seem to be doing better. Worst yet I am afraid I may be getting used to it. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the prep & liquid diet for the procedure. I have sense put myself on a general ibs diet & am logging what I eat to see if I can learn from this. Can any of you ibs sufferer's tell me if you ever get swelling on both sides of your abdomen?
