How to Add Links to Signatures

Below are the directions for adding a signature to your profile.

Signatures can be used to provide links to on-site threads such as your grow journal or photo member gallery. We do not allow links to product websites (unless they are to a paid sponsor), or other online communities and forums. Signatures may contain links to IRS non-profit organizations.

Signatures that violate these or any of our Posting Guidelines are subject to edit.

First, highlight the URL Web address you want your link to direct to and copy it.

Then click on the User CP link at the top of any 420Magazine web page.

When the User Control Panel opens click on Edit Signature.

    A window like this opens.

Now type what you would like your link to say.

    Then highlight your text.

Now click on the Insert Link icon.

Now you can enter your links URL.

Once you have entered your links URL, click OK.

Now if you are finished click on Save Signature.

There you go, you now have a link in your signature.

    ^^

You almost have it. Your display is perfect but the links are dead.

when you click the button, you'll notice the pop up box already has a http prefix in it. I think your link also had the http in it so you ended up with two of them and a bad address.

I'll fix the top one so you can what the format looks like

For the benefit of others reading....

If you want to have your link contain a custom description, edit the link as follows. Note I changed the first "url" to a "xrl" so it would display, you'd have the "url" in first postion.

    [xrl="http://www.420magazine.com/whatever"]Custom Link Description Here

So when you click this icon you don't get a popup box?

You can always type the link longhand - see the last line in post 4 of this thread

No problem, that's what we're here for

You're link is tructated still - it works but some of the words are cut off.

Try this format don't miss any symbols

do you use the quotaion marks and the word "whatever" too? I've tried adding a link to my signature for an hour, 100 times and nothing happens no matter how I do it.

and am I supposd to underline it, like in the example? maybe I am not underlining it.

Re: How to Add Links to Signatures

The "whatever" was just my example.

This is what you had (I inserted the extra space after url so it would display

    http://www.420magazine.com/forums/hash-kief-concentrates/109982--------s-hash-making.html

This is what I changed it to (same extra space so it would display)

    -------'s Hash Making

If you want to change what is displayed, just change the words "-------'s Hash Making" to whatever you want
