NORML is pleased to announce that House Bill 277, an act to exempt qualified medical cannabis patients from state arrest and prosecution, has been introduced in the Missouri legislature. This bill has not yet been referred to a committee.
If passed, this proposal would: Prohibit the arrest or prosecution of a qualifying patient who possesses a written certification for the use of marijuana for medical purposes; Prohibit a physician from being subject to arrest, prosecution, penalty, or denial of any right for providing written certification for the medical use of marijuana to a qualifying patient; Require the Department of Health and Senior Services to develop rules for governing the issuance of registry identification cards to authorized patients; Give medical marijuana patients the same rights as other pharmaceutically medicated individuals. Please take a moment today to contact your House member and urge him or her to support H.B. 277. For your convenience, a pre-written letter will be e-mailed to your state representative when you go here Contact Officials - NORML. Thank you for supporting NORML's reform efforts in Missouri. Sincerely, The NORML Team
