Re: No Mercy Supply 12/12hours 7 harvests a year system
I'm switching over to 12/12 it just makes sense.
One simple question, how tall do most sativas stretch, just an average, with this method? From top of bud to bottom of stem where roots start? I'm planing a new grow closet and need this info to plan dimentions. Thanks, excellent no bullshit threat, Cees you da man! |

Well..... I don't feel like I'm the man.
It's just like 1 plus 1 = 2. Sativa's are the best plants to work with a 12/12 system... they will not stretch that hard. SpeesCees. Last edited by SpeesCees; 08-21-2008 at 07:33 AM. |

Yep, that could be. But sometimes people get caught in a certain way of doing things and cant think out of the box.
I mean really, this is the way nature dos it. Plus if you were a breeder you'd get a lot more generations in a lot less time. Making it faster to isolate and stablalize traits. I would imagine, not being a breeder ha ha. Cees I'm thinking that with good lighting most sativas should only grow about 40 to 50 cm with this method. Do you think this is about right? |

Re: No Mercy Supply 12/12hours 7 harvests a year system
I am not Cees , but he asked me to answer for him ,because he has trouble answering in English. ( I 'm also part of No Mercy Supply)
"How tall will they grow " is a question thats pretty hard to answer even with the knowledge of the strain being Sativa . The last picture I posted here show strains that are not even 100% sativas , but still they became 70 - 100 cm tall with this method . These plants started in a large amount of soil right away , the were never re-potted/planted . the re-potting proces always slows the plants down for a while and they have to grow in a small amount of soil in the first weeks . It turns out that this is an important factor in how tall they will become . The Sativa/Indica crossings I grew almost always become taller than 50 cm when started on 12/12 right away . |

Thanks for your reply atmosphere. Thats a lot taller than I would have thought. I'll have to do a wee bit of redesigning.

Cool Cees! You speak better Dutch than me I'm sure! Although my cousins wife is from Holland and told me I could learn it, no problems, much easier than Enlish.
Anyway, getting back to plant growing. I would imagine that the size of the finished plant would to a large extent depend on the size of container used. I found even in pure hydro that the larger the root mass the bigger the plant. I was thinking of growing in 11 cm x9cm pots using organic hydro bloom. 12/12 of course. Any ideas as to how high a Santa Marta Sativa would get? |

The Santa Maria's do grow pretty high if you don't grow them on a 12/12 system.
In fact.. they are VERY good for 12/12 ....becourse they're stable you know. And ohh yeahh... in about 3 weeks we have Santa Maria seed again in the right amount to sell them for a friendly price. Last edited by SpeesCees; 08-29-2008 at 06:55 AM. |

Ha! Cees, you are a salesman
![]() ![]() I'll have to put an order in and try them out. I sure like the idea of growing from seeds. No mothers to keep and no cloning area. It simplifies growing a lot. And you can always put your males in a different room and pic the best one to make your own seeds. Oh I better not tell you that or your seed prices will go up ha ha |

This method is not just a 'nice' one. Combined with good grow skills it will deliver you record yields / time / watt.

Hey Atmosphere !
I bet that strain choice would be important, growing from seed. If it was a unstable strain you would get very different growth patterns with the smaller phenos being kept in the dark. And the more stretchier ones getting all the light. So Santa Maria is real stable.? What's a good indica that Mercy has that is good meds and very uniform? |
