The Governor's Council on Alcohol & Drug Abuse Programs is having a meeting today in Salem. They will be talking about legislation that they are bringing (SB465) at around 1:00. There will be public testimony afterward. We should all be there to fight for our right to work. Governor’s Council on Alcohol & Drug Abuse Programs Meeting The Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) Hall of Heroes 4190 Aumsville Highway, Salem, Oregon 1/27/2009 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. |

I got there in time to hear that they were in a doomsday situation, with no hope of funding their programs, and being told to form skeleton crews to keep their programs alive as long as possible with the hopes of riding out the economic crisis intact.
I presented I-28 to them and asked them to sponsor it as a bill with the Oregon Pain Management Commission and the Governor's Commission on Senior Services. They are just about desperate enough to do it. They are hand-delivering The Domino Effect to legislators. They passed around lists and designated who would take it to whom. |
