There is a bill to take away our employment rights, a bill to give us our employment rights, a bill to take away our gardens and have the State sell us our medicine and one other bill all being heard between 8:00 and 10:00 am in Hearing Room E at the Capitol. Then they will break until 5:00 pm and work again until 8:00.
We need bodies at this event. Our right to grow our own medicine is at stake because of LEO lies and media hype. There are 34 medical marijuana related bills this session. Last session there was just 1. Think they are trying to keep us busy?

Sure like to be there as this is my old Home State. What Oregon is attempting to do, by putting the Medical Cannabis in the States hands for total control, is just wrong.
Maybe they ought to incept a "Sales tax" instead of raising property taxes. or at least be able to pump your own gas!

Public Hearing set for bills regarding patients' ability to work and the state garden that would take away patients' gardens
Where: Hearing Room E, Oregon State Capitol at 900 Court St NE in Salem Patients and activists need to show up in force to stop bills that allow employers to fire or not hire patients and a bill that establishes a state garden while outlawing patients' personal gardens. Please tell our lawmakers that marijuana should be treated the same as other medicines and that a state garden simply won't work and will only cost our state millions in additional arrests, convictions and jailing of patients. Business and Labor Office: 453 Phone: 503-986-1496 Date: Wednesday-March 18 Time: 8:00 A.M. Room: HR E Public Hearing HB 2497 FIRST PUBLIC HEARING - Expands ability of employer to prohibit use of medical marijuana in workplace. HB 2503 FIRST PUBLIC HEARING - Prohibits discrimination in employment under certain circumstances if discrimination is based on person's status as medical marijuana registry cardholder or use of medical marijuana off property or premises of employment or during hours that are not hours of employment. HB 2881 FIRST PUBLIC HEARING - Establishes procedure for employment-related marijuana drug testing and review of results by medical review officer. HB 3052 FIRST PUBLIC HEARING - Expands ability of employer to prohibit use of medical marijuana in workplace. HB 3274 FIRST PUBLIC HEARING - Directs Department of Human Services to establish and operate marijuana production facility and distribute marijuana to pharmacies for dispensing to medical marijuana cardholders and designated primary caregivers. The committee will recess at 10:00 a.m. and reconvene from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., if necessary. Each speaker called to testify will have two minutes to address the committee. The order of testimony may be managed to ensure that all points of view on these measures are presented. Staff respectfully requests that you submit 25 collated copies of written materials at the time of your testimony and, if possible, an electronic copy of materials provided to staff 24 hours prior to the meeting. Persons making presentations including the use of video, DVD, PowerPoint or overhead projection equipment are asked to contact committee staff and provide an electronic copy 24 hours prior to the meeting. |
