How to Build a Light Bulb Vaporizer

Out of any device used for smoking the vaporizer is by far the safest and cleanest. When people are medically prescribed this great drug, doctors will usually recommend a vaporizer to smoke with. Why is it safer and cleaner than other devices you ask? Other tools make marijuana come in direct contact with the flame, and the temperature of fire is much greatest than that required to make THC boil, thus causing excess release of THC, and combustion of the cannabis itself. A vaporizer, on the other hand, will heat up the green to about 400-500 degrees F or something like that, thus causing THC to be released but with little combustion, thus reducing the amount of carcinogens by 95-97%, and has extremely little tar, and best of all more THC! Unfortunately for this extravagant service, an extravagant price must be paid as well, ranging from 75-500 USD! Luckily for people like me you can make one out of a light bulb, though it obviously wont do as good as the real thing, but $3.00 instead of $300 works perfectly fine for me.

Advantages

- Little tar
- Very little smoke with more THC

Disadvantages
- Usually quite pricy
- Often require to be plugged in, thus eliminating mobility
- Since it doesn't just ignite your bud, it is usually time consuming

How to Make your Own:

Materials:
Light bulb
Bottle Cap (size depends on size of light bulb...)
Knife
Straw
Tape (Electrical is best)



Procedures:
1) First, take the light bulb and your knife. Cut off the top of the metal part of the light bulb with the knife (or saw i guess... just be EXTREMELY CAREFUL! seriously... I don't want people getting cut badly because of my tutorial! take your time and do it slowly and carefully)



2) When you have that metal part cut off, then empty out the inside. Take out the metal stuff inside that makes the light bulb make light... when your done the inside should be cleaned out. Using pliers helps since most of the pieces are aluminum (I think...) and just bend really easily to fall out.
Also be sure to clean out the bulb completely with soap and water, and let fully dry. and be careful as bulbs are quite fragile!



3) Now find a bottle cap (mostly 2 liter coke-bottle caps work... they have on all the bulbs I've tried so far...) and screw it onto the light bulb (that's why you left some of the metal there ) to see if it fits. if it doesn't, look for a different sized cap.



4) Now take your cap off and make 2 holes in it. 1 just big enough to fit a straw through, and the other slightly smaller. These are your inhalation holes, and your clearing hole. the smaller one is to cover with your finger to keep the smoke from escaping. the one with the straw is to inhale

5) Now to put in the straw to complete your vaporizer! put the straw into the larger hole



6)To use: unscrew the top, and put your weed in (i break mine up, but that's just me...). Cover the smaller hole and put your mouth on the straw (don't inhale) and put the bulb over a tea-candle or use your lighter under the bulb. the bulb will fill with white smoke. after it does that, uncover the small hole and inhale through the straw. makes weed last longer and gets ya pretty damned high hope someone finds this useful on one of those days with nothing to smoke with... takes aprx 15 minutes to build.

I built one of those, and cleaned it out really good....Put about.5 grams in there busted up. Lit it, filled with smoke, then I took the hit. When you smoke out of one of these it hits you pretty hard on first toke.....
I had a few more hits, and I was pretty damn blitzed.

The only thing I didnt like when i smoked out of it is i start coughing way too much and too loud...then i start throwing up.

Other than that this device is dope!

What a hippy rig! lol I guess what's more important is that it works. I used to set up bulbs like that years ago but we didn't use them for cannabis vapes. I won't go any further with my explanation but suffice to say it doesn't look good to be seen sucking on a straw sticking out of a light bulb.
