Northern Lights grown with CFLs

I am preparing to put up a whole thread on growing with CFLs. New to the site and trying to figure out how to use pictures etc. I don't want to screw up the big post so I'm testing with this one.

Here is a shot of one of the resulting plants.
I will add a link to the post when I have this all figured out and am done uploading all the pictures etc.

Im also using HO CFLs i plant got real bushy, but i hope it makes a cola like that! :P yum!

Nice plant! Curious about the HO CFL's w/external ballasts. How much heat do they generate as compared to the lower wattage CFL's with internal ballasts? I love the results I've had using regular CFL's, but like every one else, I'd like to improve my grow results. Thanks in advance.

The CFLs I use do not have an external balast and I have no heat issues.

it shows the "light box" we made and how we aid the removal of what little heat they generate (compared to more traditional growing lights).

You can actually touch the glass of the light box and feel no heat at all. We've even had the plants grow and touch the glass with no ill effects to the girls.

my 300watt High Output CFL's put little heat. you can touch the bulb when its on even. So you can keep them close but be sure to move either the plant or the blub a little bit every other day. consistent heat on 1 spot can dry out that part of the plant over time.
