The Legal Status Of Cannabis In Russia
LEGAL STATUS OF CANNABIS IN RUSSIA
1. Consumption and possession
No distinction between the recreational or medicinal use. Recreational use is regulated according to the administative code - as any other drugs.
Any amount leads to criminal prosecution; the possession of 20 plants or more is considered as a "large amount".
4. Provision of seeds, tools to produce and consume cannabis etc.
No regulations, they are in free access (seeds are available mainly through internet), but products with symbols of cannabis (t-shirts, cell phones, etc.) are considered as propaganda of drug use (several court cases started this year) – and leads to administrative sanctions. Also some books describing medical use of cannabis were prohibited for the same reason
Storage for personal use is punished administratively, in ‘large sizes’ (hashish as of 2 grams, marihuana as of 6 grams, hashish oil as of 0,4 grams). Cannabis is punished criminally when it is stored in ‘especially large sizes’ (25 grams or more of hashish, 100 grams or more of marihuana and 5 grams or more of hashish oil).
Re: The Legal Status Of Cannabis In Russia
There have been changes to the drug laws in Russia since this post, can I get the updated information please? I am a legal medical marijuana user in the U.S. and travel to Russia frequently to visit family.
