Re: carmelicious
Hey G! I got a Carma going right now and can give you a couple of shots at 3 weeks into flower. Check out the fan leaf size and pretty little buds kicking in.
You won't regret the selection but be forewarned it is one of those dank skunky buggers. You can smell this thing right through filters and such,(walls, ceilings, glass, force fields HaHa). I love it, and have moments throughout the day while at work I would swear I still smell it even though 7 miles away. Wonder what Froid would make of that? Oh well...unless he's got some grow tips... I also love Amster. Seeds as I average 6 days from them to north Tejas and a germination tray. Of 10 units, have had 2 duds, 4 female, 2 male and 2 un-planted as of yet. This one in the pics is Hydro on AN at about 1000ppm right now. The only downside is I seem to remember them being pricey little critters, but thats it. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: carmelicious
I' ve been growing now for about 7-8 yrs...many different strains (both indica and sativa)...the following pictures (if I can figure out how to send them thru) are of ice and carmelicious mixed...In all of this time I've been going by how many weeks/or color of the "hairs" on the flowers...I can grow my but off--seeds, clones...makes no difference;however figuring out peak harvest is the darndest for me: I have a jewlers eyepiece (30X) and also the small microscope from radio shack (60X100);I'm not quite sure what I'm looking at or for--I know they're called trichomes, but I don't ever see them when I'm looking...Is there a bigger microscope/magnifying glass that I can use?
Pictures are coming. |

Re: carmelicious
^Hi G,
I have not yet seen your photos, but if you had an Ice/Carma it would have been completely covered by Trics and impossible to miss at even 30x. In fact you should probably start there before the higher powers simply to avoid maybe confusing yourself on what you seek. I think a good start towards tuning your eye would be a visit to my favorite Thread, Plant & Bud photos in The Grow Room section. Perhaps you can also scan any number of fascinating articles, and even photo-micrographs published by THE Smoking *****, which clearly instruct you how to determine when these shining little globules start changing colors from clear to amber and its time to harvest. Still anxious to see your hybrid photos. I'll bet you puff a full blunt of that and you were one of Jerry's Kid's for awhile huh?

Re: carmelicious
Just wanted to follow up with another bud shot of that 2nd photo above after nine more days as the Iceman Cometh!
It's just a mid level baby bud on an outer branch which is easy to get to for photo. The four main top cola's are just a bunch of the same but much bigger. I hope the trichs on the leaf's are visible in photo once posted, because in real life I can almost judge their current state as completely clear by eye only. In Photo Shop I can zoom right in to easily distinguish individual areas in some detail...but then of course I tend to drool on myself. The taste?...Well lets just say it is appropriately named and very tasty. As drawn in, it has what I think of as a bass note earthy tone like a dark hash and is quite smooth. Upon exhale is when the flavor parade strikes up the band. The next several breaths were flavored exactly like caramel smells...ummm yummy. I also thought I had been spending to much time with the dogs as I could not stop licking my lips. It was just flat-ass sweet like a powdered sugar coat. I eventually had to dig out my chapstick not seen since last winter. While doing all this I had sucked down three bowls from my one-hitter and realized I was also now stoned. It does not come on like a hammer, but more like silently creeps down from above. It would be easy to get ahead of yourself packing bowls, so let the buzz come on to know where your ultimately heading. Being only half way through flower and sampling only quick cure from daily maintenance, I am really looking forward to the finished product now for sure. There will be a clone from this plant going into my next cycle start around the new year with some Bubble Gum from Serious and Blueberry from Dutch Passion. The Carma will be there. PS: By the way, it goes really, really well with ice cream:-) The Iceman cometh. - 420 Magazine Photo Gallery
