How important is darkness during veg?

I understand the importance of complete and total darkness during the flower cycle, but if a vegging plant could receive 24 hours of light a day, than how dangerous is it if light was to fall on the plants during the 6 hours of dark in a 18/6 veg cycle?

Many people run lights for 24 hours a day. I, however, think the girls like to sleep a little every day. There are arguements for both sides.

I used to do 24 veg then did 18on/6off.Saw no difference.Right now i do 12/12[1000w/400w-hps] budding,veg i do 18/6 with a hps[400w] and 24 with a mh[400w].
I don't have a timer for the mh so i leave it on 24.
Oh i have two rooms-1-budding,1-veg and clones.

I also noticed little difference between the two, so have taken to running 18/6 simply based on the fact that I'm not paying for lights 6 hours per day in that room. We'll call it 'Electric Bill Logic'.

What kind of light is best for getting massive amounts of bush in the veg stage?

I use T5 flo's (6 bulb = 4 bloom and 2 veg) in my flowering area and a two bulb T5 in my veg/clone area. I usually only veg for 14 days, to keep down on the flowering height. Flowering area is only 7.5 ft, after you subtract space for the light and the pots, i have about 5-6 ft of growing space. My plants are only half as bushy as some I have seen in the journals. Any advice would be great.

They arent as bushy mainly because your growing with floros...Usually flourescent grown plants are lanky and small. Unless you have a ton of them. Metal Halide is best for veg, and High Pressure Sodium is best for fowering.
