how do I take care of this issue?

I look the issue up and it said it was nitrogen toxicity and to flush them so I poured 3 gallons of purified water in them. Because they are getting the claw hook, brown spots, yellow cracks and burnt edging. I don't understand how though because I've only nute them once. I transplanted them to a MH bulb from my t5's and they started laying down and now being destroyed. Light is raised to 4 ft now so we'll see. Anyone know anything else to try?
