Since I'm obsessed with LST now, I thought I'd just share my experience with it. I have kept my plants less than 6" tall from the top of the pot. They are bushy monsters, but sit very low.
I built my grow box 4' high to accommodate taller plants, but didn't really give LST some thought. I could have saved a lot of materials building a shorter box

i've got a very tall room, 7'6", but if this works as well as it seems to, i might be able to grow two sets of plants. one on the floor and another on a shelf... what a concept!

Just getting everything setup for my first grow. Indoor/soil in a 4x8 tent. My plan is to do 12 plants. I am planning to LST half and let the other half grow naturally. Hoping to campare yeilds side by side. Whichever nets the most will become my routine.

Screwnuts, i'm very interested in seeing your results. i'm undertaking a similar project in a smaller space. 3x3.5 with 4 plants. lemme know if you do a journal, i'd love to follow along.

Here's an example of waiting until I read more before asking questions...I figured someone else would have wanted to know what LST stood for, or at least would have mentioned the whole name.
Meanwhile, I was thinking something along the lines of string training...lol. Anyway, this sounds great! Thanks so much for the info! |

LST is the only way to go if your cramped for space, and not wanting to call attention to a larger cab, and my personal choice for growing if your using CFL's.
I've been growing single plants in this 18X22 base for 3 years with great results. The top light canopy (new, just finished, has 8 42W CFL's) adjusts from 29" to 39" in height.
