Re: help taking pictures...
Lots of extra light. From the side is best.
No more than 10X zoom. Specificaly no digital zoom, optical only. 10X is the usual cut off between optical and digital zoom. A tripod or some other stationary support for the camera. Take lots of pics. Vary the set-up. Choose the best. Be careful when doing image processing before posting. Cropping is OK. Resizing ????? Color?? anything more than "Instant fix" is very iffy. Lots of light. The more light, the more detail is avaliable. Ajustable work lites (even 60W) are very useful.

Re: help taking pictures...
The steadier the camera when the picture is taken, more clear it will come out. Also, more Megapixels help obviously. If you have a magnifying mode or macro shot mode on your camera, use those. I use the magnifying mode whenever I take my bud shots. Also, the best time of the day to take pictures is when the sun is out and the inside of your house is bright. But don't put the bud directly in sunlight, instead, just somewhere very bright. I like to use natural light ONLY, which is the sun obviously, because light bulbs tend to change the color of the buds.

Re: help taking pictures...
If your cam is any decent, you should have a macro mode. From that point on all you need is a little practice and you'll be taking awesome close up faster then you think

Re: help taking pictures...
im probably being repetetive to other peoples posts..
put lots of light on the object you want to photograph. lots. make a steady base to rest your camera when you snap the shot. if you can, turn off the flash and change the ISO shutter speed as high as it can go. many digital cameras cant do this, unfortunately. but you can turn off flash. turn on macro mode. it will probably be a button with a little flower. make sure its on the flower setting and not the mountain setting. this mode may also be found in your menu. i dont know. every camera is different. try not to zoom. see how close you can get to snap a clear shot. then back up and try zooming if you need to. set the camera down. set up the picture. snap it and make sure the camera doesnt move until the shot is done. it should work. |

Re: help taking pictures...
-the more light the better (you want a fast shutter speed)
-a low ISO -high aperture -the right white balance (you're going to have to mess around with it to get it just right) -macro mode if you have it (if you're taking close up shots) -a steady hand or better yet, a tripod if you have one -a decent camera |
