Everyone Who Has Died From Smoking Marijuana Review

This is a book I didn’t want to read. I have seen it listed in online bookstores since its release in 2014, but I must admit, as a regular cannabis user I simply wanted to bury my head in the sand and ignore the shocking truth. My editor insisted that he needed someone to review it for 420 Magazine because he felt the book might have value to the cannabis community. Out of fear, I suspect, all of the other reviewers had declined, one even claiming to have a fork in his eye as his excuse. Well, I had been vaping some Pink Kush and I couldn’t think up a good enough reason on the fly, so I got it.

As we all know, medical research into cannabis and its effects on our bodies has been hampered for decades by its illegality in the United States. For years, a farm at the University of Mississippi, overseen by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), has been producing the only cannabis legally available to researchers in the US. Digging deeper, I have found that their product has been criticized as poor quality herb (except for G-13 which is reputed to have escaped). Now while I applaud the US Government for the unnatural fiscal frugality they have shown by restricting supply, this has basically handcuffed researchers. This paragraph doesn’t really have anything to do with the book but I needed a filler for the review.

The author, Dr Charles H. Kinchington, has shown great courage by finally bringing all of his research out into the light. He has undoubtedly scoured the globe gathering data and talking to clinical experts about the shocking list he reveals. Unfortunately, the good doctor must remain a mystery as no biography was included in the book and an Internet search reveals nothing. I will not speculate, but I must admit, that I suspect something untoward.

This book is not an easy read due to its contents, although the author’s sly use of mono-syllable words does make it a fast read. In fact, I highly, highly, highly recommend that you use Amazon’s preview feature before purchase, just to see if you can handle the emotional roller coaster it brings. Page after page is the same, as the monotonous list of victims is transcribed in brutal frankness. It is probably impossible to read this book without shedding a tear, but I am just so truly thankful that we now know the stark truth once and for all.
