Air pruning is when roots hit air and stop growing at that point effectively "pruning" them and causing them to spread out versus continue growing in the direction they were headed.

You are going the opposite way of how I grow, which is recommended by Octopot. They say once the roots hit the res, keep the res topped up. You don't want those roots air pruning. Also, I don't mess with foliars, too much trouble.

Yes, but that's more of an average versus a record yield. I think at this point Mega Crop is a very solid nutrient line but your yield will be heavily dependent on the genetics.
