Way off my budget I might look at buying a second hand one. If I can find one that is. I'm based in Europe, I'm sure it might be more over here.

You are in EU Teddy? We still have several old Mars II 1200 which is now very good price. Maybe you can try as well. But the newest Mars II 1600 is also just around 500USD
