yes, the roots are not developed enough yet in your clone to be able to efficiently get to the water in the bottom. Until the plant takes off in the new situation, water around the base of the plant and out to about 3" of the diameter of the plant, a couple times a day. Don't worry about soaking the soil until you can see that the plant is thriving.

I'm glad I saw this post. I think my newest clones are having this issue. I have not been watering them because I thought they had too much water. Now I think I have been killing them without it. I think 1 is too far gone. I just might be able to save the other.
