so, im doing dwc with canopy temps at 36c and water temps at 32c. perfected my method to avoid root rot and i dont use bennies. living near the equator...
i cannot afford to run the ac constantly to dry buds and the fridge seems perfect. im planning on using paper bags.
my question is, after the 2 week mark when i take the buds out of the fridge and lay them to air out to room temps, my temps are always at 30c+. so i was wondering if i could run the ac during that time i lay out the buds. the problem here is, if i run the ac, rh drops from 70% to 40%. is 40% rh good for the buds to air out...or will they dry out soon?
also, if i dont go with the ac, my temps being at 30c+, will it affect the terpenes even after finishing the 2 weeks inside the fridge right after harvest?

Hi ice,
I never lay my buds out to air dry with the low and slow. They are either in the paper bags in the fridge or in turkey bags for the final dry and curing process. Ideally in the fridge you want 45-50% but in a room you want to be even higher.
After 2 weeks or if the buds feel drier than normal, I epty the paper bags into one big oven turkey roasting bag. I let it sit in a dark cool area and measure the RH after a couple of hours. If the RH is higher than 70% I put the buds back in the paper bags for another day and follow the same process for checking the RH until I'm below 70%.
If above 62% and below 70% I fill the turkey bag with air, like a balloon, which helps the buds dry inside the bag. I burp this twice a day until at 62% filling it with air each time. Once at 62% I release all the air and roll the bag closed for later consumption. I don't use jars for curing, just for storing the current bud I'm consuming.

Is it ok to stack up bags over each other? How much can be too much?

I stack and stagger the stacks. Try not to let the bags touch the walls of the fridge or you'll get the condensation on them if it's a frost free unit. Don't roll the ends closed. Leave them open and try not to put more than 1 to 1.5 wet ounces in each bag. Rotate daily for a couple of days and jostle the bud around in the bag while doing so. I have quite a bit of bags stacked. You don't want them squished which is why staggering the bag pattern helps a bit.

Thanks for the tip regarding avoiding the walls of the fridge..

Why do u recommend not closing the bags? Wont the buds loose their smell and dry faster?

It hasn't for me. I've done it both ways but imo there's less risk of mold issues with fat buds or overstocked bags. Either way works so stick with what you're comfortable with.
