$1,479,000 Grow-Op Busted Near Kirkfield

OPP discovered an outdoor marijuana grow operation worth about $1,479,000 in Dalton Township Thursday (Sept. 2).

The OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau - Drug Enforcement Unit, with the help of the OPP Rural Agricultural Crime Team, charged three people following the bust on Dartmoor Road, north of Kirkfield. Officers found 1,479 marijuana plants on the property and also seized a Honda ATV, a 1998 GMC pick-up truck and a John Deere riding lawn mower.

Michael Baker, 37, of Scarborough, faces one charge of production of cannabis marijuana. Robert Snow, 36, of Kawartha Lakes, faces charges of possession of cannabis marijuana and production of cannabis marijuana. Cheri Sponagle, 34, of Scarborough, faces charges of possession of cannabis marijuana and production of cannabis marijuana. All three are scheduled to appear in court Oct. 21 in Lindsay.

why did they take the lawnmower?
 
but lawn mowers are horrible trimmers, they complain about hand cramps too much. Wait! is the dog still alive, the goldfish? those fierce attack goldfish.
 
They took the mower because one of the "officers" needed a new one.
Ya know... free mower!
 
In the 70's &80's when I was hanging out in Costa Rica, the Miami cops and fireman were always coming down with a bunch of jewelery, watches and stuff that they wanted to sell.
