12/12 after one week?

I have some sativa seeds that can go 12/12 after germination...this sounds far to early...personally i would think letting it grow to 12inches or so..then 12/12 is more suitable.

What do you think? Would starting the 12hrs light too early affect yield?

It could, and most likely would. What you want to do is veg untill the plants are sexually mature. The thing with that is most people dont do it, they veg for a a couple weeks and then flower. It is YOUR PREFERENCE of what you can do.

Thanks for the information guys! Thats was my thinking...it just seems too early.

Now the other thing.........lighting during vegitation. I have read 24/0 is better than 18/6, because the plant is constantly growing. Surely it would make more sense to let the plant grow to its optimum capacity?

Then to 12/12 during flowering obviously.....

Use 18/6. 24/0 has its ups and downs should I say. Alot of growers debate about the effictiveness of 24/0 and 18/6 and most go with 18/6. However if you have a mother you can keep her under 24/0.
