1st Grow: Every Light In The House

Hello 420! First grow and first journal. Please be patient while I figure this site out. All help is needed and appreciated.

This is really late I know, but the prospect of learning how to grow, recording it and hiding it from the kiddies was to daunting. So I’ll start up with a couple of pics. If I get as much as one follower I’ll continue. Thanks in advance. They might not be alive without this website.

So just became legal around here so I thought “why not?” We’ll my better half told me why not. No time, kids, work, she doesn’t like it. All valid points and I agree of course. I certainly don’t want my kids around it either. So here’s the deal. One whiff, one curious question and they’re out! No questions asked. Perfectly reasonable. Well we’re on week 6.5 of bloom & everyone is still clueless. Lol. Almost there...can’t believe I’m getting away with it! So here is how I did it...

Got the kids involved. We started Romas, green beans, Brussel spouts. When it thawed we moved them outside. Guess what was in the locked closet under cfl waiting to take their place. You guessed it.

Friend has been a patient for years. She’s been saving the random seeds from her good stuff. She’s got tons of different strains. Told her I’d grow it for her. Fun

Soil: ffof, perlite
Pots: 3gal fabric
Lights: Mars 96, mixed cfl, t12
6” fan carbon filter and fans under and over canopy.
Nutes: dr earth veg. Humboldt micro, grow, bloom, ginourmous
Ph 6.3 tap water
Basically trying to copy what I see here.

I read somewhere that dr earth was good for cannibus. So I tried it. Burned them. Not real bad but definitely to much N. 1st mistake.

I’m looking for a pic. Probably didn’t take one but typical toxicity. Dark green, tips down and burned. Which led to my next mistake. I flushed them and the perked right up. The problem is I never turned off the LED to look again not realizing that they always look dark which led to this..

So I started with the humboldt. Which leads us to mistake 3. I only used the bloom and ginormous. Who needs more N right? Wrong. Guy at the grow store straightened me out. The grow and micro have more than just N. Dah. So I started at 2ml/gal of each & worked my way up. I think they’ll be ok.

So that’s where I’m at now. I’ve only got a couple few weeks left. I’m adding a 400w hps this weekend for the finish. Would’ve done it earlier but didn’t have it. If any of you expert growers have any tips on how I can avoid fn this up please don’t be bashful. I’m so close! It’s actually kinda stressful in a way. Lol didn’t expect that.

Can anyone tell me if that really is Gg4? I read you can only get clones of it. Did it hermi for the seeds? Still fuzzy on the breeding aspects. I know it’s SUPER sticky. Like your fingers stick together sticky. Good sign but still doesn’t mean it’s GG4. Any ideas?

The girls look great. Maybe too much fertilizer, water, and/or not enough drainage. All I know is the importance of oxygen throughout the roots. I might start lessening the amount of fertilizer and begin to flush. Depending how close to harvest you are of course.
For real though I’m growing brandywine, tlacolula, and pineapple.

One telltale sign is a pin wheel pattern with the leaves.
You can get GG4 in seeds almost at every seed bank. Is it the original GG4 probably not. That's the one you can only get from the original breeders and a few select places. Authorized by the breeder. According to their site.

Thanks I’ll give it some thought. I’m 6.5 weeks from flip so I still got some time. I haven’t checked the trics lately...

Had a buddy tell me “ it’s a fn weed, how hard can it be?” We’ll let me tell you. I did great with environment. 5.5’ by 5.5’ by 7’. Temp between 68-75. >=50% humidity most of the time. No bugs no problems. But getting the nute and watering schedule right is a pain in the ass.
