1st Grow - Unknown Seeds - Comments & Suggestions Welcome!

you can use either a week solution of nutrients or plain pH adjusted water for your final flush. you could also use water and 2 tablespoons of molasses per gallon for your flush. using distilled water may provide a cleaner tasting product as it has less minerals. i have used 48 hours of darkness before harvest before.

I went and got me some of this

Day 150, Day 101 flowering, Day 90 since first sign of white pistils

- drained/cleaned out res...flushed plant for 2 hours of ph'ed water and h2o2

- mixed 2tbsp of molasses with boiling water to dissolve it and mixed with a gallon of water.

- drained/cleaned out res..

- had 1/2 gal of 1/8 strength Nutes left so I mixed it with 1/2 gal of the molasses/water and added to res...and will add the molasses/water as needed

- going to go for a week of this flush (all depends on maturity of the trichomes)

in a Deep Water Culture molasses should not gum everything up, i would not run beneficials with it though i had a mess when i did.
you could also use a flushing solution. Goldengoose7 posted a HomeMade Clearex Recipe in his journal. i have bought the items required to make it myself for flushing.

HomeMade Clearex Recipe!
Make Your Own Flushing Solution for Pennies on the Dollar!

I have posted this recipe on a few other journals and threads around here, but I have never made an official post in my own journal complete with my usual photo documentation. Until now! :thumb:

This recipe makes 2 liters worth which should last most home growers an entire season

Combine the following dry ingredients in a saucepan along with 2 Liters of Fresh RO Water...

120 grams of Dextrose (I use Coopers Brand - Used for Beer Making)
60 grams of Sucrose (Your Common White Table Sugar)
1.5 grams Sodium Benzoate (* Optional as a preservative)
1-2 drops of Green or Blue Food Coloring (For Effect! + Makes it Obvious It Isn't Just Plain Water)

In order to fully dissolve the Sodium Benzoate into solution, I heat the mixture to 200 degrees on the stovetop. This ensures that all of the sugars and preservative are dissolved evenly into solution.

* If you keep the mixture in the freezer till needed, you can skip adding the preservative. But BE WARNED! Sugar water grows bacteria like gang-busters so you either freeze the product till needed or use the preservative. I prefer to use the preservative so I can store the finished product at room temperature indefinitely along with all my commercial additives.

Just like the commercial version, you use 15ml of this mixture per gallon of water for flushing.

The finished product ready for use on your flowering plants!

Enjoy! :thumb:

Had some foam build up in my res...might have been from mixing molasses and the Nutes. So I went to the hydro store and picked up some florakleen...drained res and flushed with florakleen and ph'ed water for 2 1/2 hours and filled res back up this time with 1/2 tbsp of molasses /gal water.

Is there something wrong because my plant doesn't smell like MJ smells more like lawn grass?
