1st Time Grower Box Build - 1st Clones And New Grow - Maui Wowie - GDP - LA Kush

Merry Christmas everybody. Hope you had a good christmas. Hope your gifts were better than mine. I got the wrong soap and bugs for christmas ...... LOL

Yeah .... it's all sorted out. I'm so close to harvest, it doesn't matter much at this point. Although, I'd rather not have them at all. So, I took them all out again today and sprayed them all down a second time. With the right soap this time. They actually looke different than they did when they were in the scrog screen. I can get better idea how much is actually growing on each plant. Much more there than I thought. Plus you can see everything better with the trimming.

Here's the Maui Wowie. It looks like hell and has grown sideways in the screen.

Hopefully the Bronner's Magic Soap (peppermint) and water will do it's job and knock these little bastard out.

Me too 420 ... me too.

So, it's been too long and since we are in Day 56 I figure it's time for some Trichome porn. I need to keep an eye on them and keep track of which one is closest to being ready. Plus, it's my learning experience .... so opinions on which trichomes are which will help me later when I have to do this on my own. So, here's the GDP ..........

I was actually expecting the Maui to be farther along than the rest. But, They all look to be the same. They all look pretty clear still. But, look to be starting to get cloudy. I would guess that they are clear ..... 20 percent cloudy at this point. Anyone else have an opinion they'd like to share as to the ripeness of these trichomes. I know they aren't ready and should go at least another week. What I am looking for is opinions that describe the clear/cloudy/amber ness of the trichs. Thanks everybody.

Oh .... quick question. Where should I be checking my trichomes?? I took pictures of the leaves on the very top buds ... since they were the easiest to photograph. But, wouldn't these be the youngest trichs and the last to turn amber??

Oh .... I alomst forgot. First person to tell me what is in this pic wins three cool points .... and a +Rep (if it lets me).

Hi, I just joined a couple of days ago, and have spent the last several hours reading this blog, I had to laugh several times, I had so many of the same issues especially with your clones.

Anyway about the tric's, my partner was anal about day's to harvest, and although we had 3 sativa's and 3 indica's we harvested the when the tric;s were pretty much like yours are, I certainly couldn't say I saw any cloudy ones, maybe a little less bright than yours, maybe. The resulting smoke was all very sativa like, no body stone, all very up, we preferred that anyway, and so did all of our friends. But them we didn't have anything to compare it too either. If I did it again, I would have insisted harvesting the top buds and leaving the lower ones for another few weeks, and now I'm about to start my own grow, I can do what I like. :thumb:

About the pider mights we got the too very early on, at the start of flowering, er grew them in our bedroom, and the bathroom was next door, 1st like you I removed a lot of the fan leaves, then I had my partner carry the plants into the shower every day, and I used the shower nozzle on them, rubbed every leaf with a wet soft cloth, did it for I think 8 days, then got some peppermint soap and sprayed them thoroughly. It worked,

Anyway, I know I can in plate, but have enjoyed the ride. Will keep watching :)

get a picture of the buds themselves
and Oh I know thats a picture of whats left of my brain..NOW GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!

I like to pick my sativas at 50% cloudy, gives a great heady up high with jjst a lil numbing, depending on the strain of course. If you want that gdp to on the heavier side Id wait until your trichs were all white with about 15% amber, well thats how I like to harvest my indicas. So in my opinion i think you got about a week on the sativas and prob about 2 weeks on the gdp. But thats not set in stone, ive been waiting for 2 weeks for my critical to amber and it barely started today!

Patience has me biting my nails lol

So you harvest the sativas faster? or how do you mean my grow is mainly Sativas and some hybrids... Any like rule of thumbs?

.I use the cervantea growing bible since the beginning of my growing and it reccomends to harvest your sativas when the crystals are 50% clear and the other half white. I really like how my sativas turn out when I harvest them that way, nicd and clear and almost like your floating. But I really like couchlock indicas for night time so I wait for about 20% of the white crystals to turn amber. In my experiance thats what I have found to be my preferred method. But that doesnt mean the sativas will be done sooner, some sativas take a long time to start to mature their crystals. Hope that helps moutnain goat!

Unfortunately, I got a really nasty virus and had to wipe my computer. I am still trying to get everything up and working properly. For the time being, I am borrowing my wifes computer. So, I will be hit and miss for a little while. For some reason, my laptop won't let me type anything into the typing box. So, even though I can read what you guys are writing, I can't reply till I can get on another computer. So, be patient.

By the way ..... the pic that I posted is something on your body. I'll let you guys guess at it for a while .... LOL.
