Good evening 420 community! So It is my first time harvesting & I’m not too sure how to know when they’re ready. I ordered a micro lens to look into the trichomes but until then how can I know when it’s ready to get chopped? they are on week 9 day 59 into the flowering stage. I’m using a 1000w LED full spec. sunraise light.

Might just be me but 9 weeks x 7 days = 63 days No matter, Some strains are 7 weeks and others 9 plus or even 14 weeks for flowering. Sativa star comes in at 14 weeks. In my sig (2nd grow attempt) the last post shows two plants and they sprouted the same day. I will be harvesting one in days and the other in weeks. Me thinks you need some amber pistils.

UPDATE: I Got the microscope! Here are pics of the trichomes.

Were it my plants, I would wait longer. You should start to see some amber in the trichomes. Clear trichomes need more time, Cloudy will give you an energetic high and amber will induce couch lock. It all depends on you and what you want out of the plant. Me, I am aiming for about 20% amber.

thank you for the reply fam! I will definitely wait it out a bit more and keep an eye on that amber color. I’ll will continue to keep this forum up to date. I was also thinking if I should begin the flushing process

Easily 3 weeks to go

And never ever ever starve your plants right before harvest, or flush, if that's what u call it......feed them till you chop them

Good luck

When you harvest cut the leaves with no sugar off first. Then keep the sugars leaves to make butter or you could look into making gummies..Butter is very easy to make.

that’s the plan Def looking more into making butter

10-4. They’re both dry up fairly quick so I’ll continue to feed them. Any advice on what to do or how to prepare for harvest?

UPDATE: Week 10 Day 67
Zoomed in (Macro) pictures of trichomes will be posted shortly. Stay tuned

I heard before chopping a plant down it’s good to leave it a couple hours in total darkness. Also If anyone has any advice on what to do next I’ll appreciate it!

I have heard that leaving in darkness for an extended period doesn’t make a difference. Don’t recall who’s thread it was but he harvested 1 plant at the end of 12 normal hours of dark and another plant in the same setup after 36 or something hours and saw no difference in end product. Looking nice!

Crazy but I've got a friend that stops watering 2 weeks before he cuts and drys/cure.
Cuts all the fan leaves off and leaves buds on.
I've seen it...his buds are very dense.

UPDATE 3/12- sorry I havnt been able to post! Life’s been crazy these past weeks but it seems like these ladies might be ready for harvesti have been keeping them 48 hrs in darkness if they’re not ready should I keep them until 72 hours of darkness?

Do you mean for those final 2 weeks before harvest the plant's fan leaves are cut off?
