2 Plant Jack Herer Fem, SCROG, DWC, COB LED Lights

Ok, those pics were lame. Did new ones tonight, didn't change the res out yet. Trying to decide what to do with a water change and harvest time, ripen week or add dry cool bloom to my current soup, or just wait and flush or how far we are. Some look like amber right? Only on a couple buds though. Thoughts? How close?

Well I didn't change nutes last night. Decided to do so this morning. Went roughly on the ripen schedule. I use RO so I did do a minimal amount of calimag. I also realized I didn't have any dry koolbloom so I might go buy some this morning. PPM is very low now, around 500 or so I think. Hopefully this was the right call. Few other pics of F58 morning with the lights out.

Well lots done here this weekend. Added the dry koolbloom last night. Mixed up another batch of nute water on a bit lighter even ripen schedule. PH'd the res to 5.85 which took a ton, it had dropped since last night from 5.75 to 5.25. Took a ton of ph up but got the extra water to 5.81 and the res to like 5.6 and added a gallon or 2 of that and then ph up'd everything to be about 5.9. It keeps dropping a ton so a little higher might be good. Is it normal for ph to drop a bunch in the end of flower? I guess it would be less stable with less nutrient composition in the water to buffer it more.

I also did a pretty big defol trim tonight to really open things up better and get a lot better light and airflow thru the plants as things get close. It's been rainy out so it had gotten up to 56% in the tent. I think getting rid of all those leaves should help a bunch on the humidity front. A lot were mid/low canopy or tall blockers.

I also did a bunch with the clones and some grafting, that's for the next post though.

End of F59.

Ok, so clone grafts. I had taken these clones a number of weeks back and they've been under the desklamp but that's not sustainable. The roots were surprisingly ok, so I decided I might as well do something with them. Reading @Growca2268 's journal and talking of grafting gave me an idea. I had put the one really good clone into a bucket for real, and had 2 others in the cup, one with roots but looked a bit rough, and one with no roots that looked pretty decent and had a thicker stem.

Decided to try to combine the 2 into one and make a 2 stalk monster plant if it takes. We'll see how hardy these things are.
The clone with the good roots.

The better looking one that lacks roots

Station I setup to do the work.

Started with the thicker stem one and cut out a notch basically down the stem for a couple inches to the base. Made a v-notch and filled in with clonex gel right after cutting to keep it wet. Then took the other with the roots and cut it down on the outside into a V shape to fit in the notch.

Loosely holding them together, about to wrap. More in next post.

Ok, so then it was time to bind them together. That part was harder. Wrapped with green tape, then took a rapid roots and sliced down the side and put it in and then used a velcro-y plant tie to squish it all in tight together and hold moisture. Setup a 5 gallon bucket and threaded the roots down in thru the netpot, pour'd on the hydroton rocks and have been letting her go.

So then there is the good clone, that one went in Friday or Saturday and is looking really good now.

And the last full image of them side by side with the little led grow light that I had in the tent for a while. Gotta be better than the desk lamp! This was just now, ~16 hours later.

I need to figure out a home for these, those lights are way too bright and obvious in the house all the time. Plan is to make one be a mother to grow some more and just keep in weak veg for a long time. We'll see what happens with the conjoined twins, it might be a fun one to grow out if it takes. I'll probably need to get a bigger netpot and cut that one off and go to something larger if it does go together, it'll be a monster plant I'm sure.

Also 5 gallon buckets kinda suck to open and close. I got a lid tool which helps, but then the pellets roll out. I really like the tub situation better, though these surely snap tightly closed which is nice. They will get old fast though no doubt. Need to figure out placement and then a better light too most likely.

Few more this morning, that PH dropped again to 5.3. Last night at midnight, 5.85, this morning at 9am, back to 5.3. Got it back up to high 5.8's/5.9. We'll see if it holds. Going to try for another day or two on this res and then run a flush later in the week. Maybe chop on friday or saturday morning if it can last that long.

Ok so I guess end of F61 right now going into 62. Went ahead and full drained the res, then added a gallon of ro water, and shook as best I could and drained that and then did it one more time and refilled fully with RO water. It's mostly all clear, a little junk floating in it. I have the Florakleen to run as well in the flush. It says to run it for the last 1-2 days before harvest. I think I'll drain and refill one last time with ro water and that and then harvest Thursday or Friday as it finishes. Ran the ac in the grow room during lights out to get it nice and chilly and have it pump some resin. I gotta buy jars but I still don't really know how many/what size to get. I got some lids that have digital hygrometers in them which should be nice for curing too.

These tric pics are so cool looking, I really need to mount it somehow and get some shots I am not free holding so I can adjust it just perfect. Just get lost in em!
They deserve full size.

This one looked crazy

This flower is so cool! It's the bigger part of the one the other day above that's all white with the little amber heads just now less zoomed in.

awesome result! may i give some advice....try to defoliate before flowering. take off all the fan leaves (those big ones with long stems), so the light will reach more of the canopy. Some growers also like to Larf the plant. Larfing means, to cut off all those bottom buds that will never reach the full potential. u know..those fluffy ones. This will release much more nutrients to those upper buds, which in return will grow better and bigger. I dont know where i found a lovely thread about larfing, maybe here on 420 or other forums, dunno, a google search will find it im sure. ;)

congrats on the grow again, looks superb!

keep us posted with the dry pics and smoke report ;)

enjoy!

I definitely removed a ton of them over the grow, didn't really know how much or how high up to take em. Next grow will have more room, I need a bigger tent if they are going to grow like this which should help out with that a lot.

As for today, I did another full res flush with fresh RO water and added 10 or 11 tsp of FloraKleen to the mix. Going to let it run till Friday evening or Saturday morning I think and chop. That's best to do at the end of the dark period before any lights turn back on right?

They were still drinking a ton of the plain water, they drank like 1.5-2 gallons. That should be good for flushing out the nutes I think!

Thanks!! I'll for sure give a report of how it is!

Gave it another 2 gallons or so into the res of fresh water. Leaves are surprisingly decent for no nutes for a while.
Here are a couple shots from last night.

Yep, gonna chop this evening. I was planning on doing a wet trim tonight and hanging which sorta seemed like it'd be a late night. I like your hanging the whole plant, maybe i'll do that with em and then break it down in the morning more off into stems and trim and was going to hang in the tent with the extract fan on lowish to keep air moving hopefully without drying to fast. Luckily it's been fairly humid so the room has been staying around 50% humidity so I think that should work ok.

Also thinking about buying these for the trim: BUBBLEBAGDUDE 5 Gallon 8 Bag Set BBD5G8B Herbal Ice Essence Extractor Bag Kit with Pressing Screen and Storage Bag and make some hash out of it to press. Seems good for an 8 bag for 45 bucks. They have a 5 bag for 29 too, or for 109 I can get it with the washer machine which might be even more efficient, I wonder.

Anyone used one?

Well that is fantastic to know! Read it and that looks great, ordered the same kit tonight.

Also, chopped em all down tonight. Got the big fans all cut and hung the whole plants in the tent for the night and will do a real trim and beakdown to branches tomorrow. I closed the tent with the exhaust on low and aimed a small fan into one of the buckets with the air intake tube to nice and passively keep air going. Wondering if i should put the exhaust fan on the timer and stagger how often it runs.

Little preview of it pulled out, more tomorrow. Pulled and chopped, end of F64!

That looks amazing. What an incredible first run. You will be so glad you’ve ordered the bubble bags. Should get a nice yield of hash from that lot. Freeze the trim ASAP until you are ready to use. Did you get the travel washing machine as well? I think on page 10 is my last hash run. Anyway I can help just ask. I love making hash.
