20% THC from bud weight or of total cannabinoids?

God day folks!

When I read about different strains etc I often read things like;
This strain bla bla contains about 20% thc (or whatever Numbers they mention)

I allways wondered if its 20% of the weight of the bud och 20% of the total cannabinoid content.

I know one must do a lab-analysis to really know how much there is but can We sort out (roughfly) how much thc it is in one gram a strain containing 20% thc (exemple)

So there is about 200 mg of thc in 1 gram weed that has 20% mark on it.
