250w HPS and lux measurement question

I was considering buying a 250w HPS to upgrade my current CFL lights.

The largest HPS I can fit in my grow space would be a 250W. Grow space gross distance is total of 36 inches and after subtraction the pot size (6") and (6") for light space, I am left with 24 inches of net grow space.

With my current CFL's (336w) I get

6 inches = 30,000 lux
12 inches= 20,000 lux
18 inches= 10,000 lux

The question:

Can someone with a lux meter measure the Lux output of a 250W HPS from "X" distance from light:

6 inches = ?lux
12 inches= ?lux
18 inches= ?lux

That would sure make my decision easier.

I bought a lux meter and a 600w dimmable ballast (75% to 50%).

I will take my own readings
