I've herd of people using microwave to dry for a quick test,but I don't a procedure for that. Otherwise just air dry for couple days.

yea I read that procedure too I don’t like the sounds of putting it in a microwave I think I will tie it to a string and hang it in front of my exhaust on my tent it’s pretty damn dark in that area even with lights on in the room

Yea I'm not sure about microwave either, fan will work to dry it out

When you all harvest and trim do you only trim out the remaining fan leaves or do you also trim the tips of the sugar leaves to make the bud look well manicured?

That is up to you. Sugar leaves are covered in trichomes and are completely smokable. Some people trim them and make butter or concentrates. Some people leave them and just smoke them. It just looks better when trimmed.

I think I will just trim the tips off if they don’t have any trichomes but I will leave in tact part of it if the base of the leave is covered

Well I made a quick at home quick dryer to test out a bud I took a candle warmer and and an tin bin and it gets the temp up enough but not enough to cook the buds. Took about 20 minutes to dry now I have it jarred with a boveda pack and will test it out this week sometime after it has a cured some.

Well I just sampled my test bud and I can honestly say that it wasn’t harsh and the taste wasn’t too bad. I don’t know how accurate the ash color theory is but it did burn white. I did a quick dry and let it sit overnight in a jar with a boveda pack. Defiantly hit the spot and I can only imagine what it will do when it’s completed!

Well finally got to see my girl after two days she was looking very healthy and sparkling still quite a few white pistils. I will take close up shots of the trichomes tomorrow morning

Good morning everybody here are some pics of trichomes. Boy is she really starting to stink the place up. The buds are feeling nice and dense some more of the white pistils started to curl up overnight so that’s a good sign.

Good morning everybody she’s still going some more white pistils have started to curl in and some of the trichomes are starting to turn amber. I’m really hoping that she will be ready to harvest by beginning of next week.

Is the exhaust fan running when lights go out?

Yep exhaust runs 24/7 it’s an ac infinity s4 inch fan with the controller and all usually run on 4th fan speed to keep me right where I need to be temp wise.

I have the carbon filter set up above the lights so it’s pulling from in the tent and not pushing through the filter
